This animated video that utilizes bright color and deceptively simple line work (which was no doubt complex to create) by Luke Gibbs is nothing short of awesome.

Black Black Hills: The Celebration

Comments Off on Black Black Hills: The CelebrationMusic

Black Black Hills – “The Celebration” from Blac Ionica on Vimeo.

It’s a celebration bitches! Well this isn’t actually the kind of celebration you might want to be in attendance for. Here is a quote from the creative team involved with directing and producing the video, ‘The Celebration’ is a thematically and emotively dark sounding song. Because of this we wanted to tell a simple but very cinematic and gripping story focusing on the atmosphere of the track without being a literal translation of the lyrics.’ You can catch the rest of the right up here. The video was directed by Blac Ionica.

I don’t have a lot of information on this video other than it was created by the awesomely named ‘LUCIFER YOUTH FOUNDATION‘ (I was a part of a similar foundation in my youth). So watch it and enjoy.

Klaxons – Twin Flames

Comments Off on Klaxons – Twin FlamesMusic

This video was directed by Saam Farahmand for the Klaxons single ‘Twin Flames’. Disturbing is probably an apropos adjective in this case if you want to put it mildly with a touch of sarcasm. ‘WTF’ spoken by clearly enunciating each word as opposed to saying the acronym might also be a proper response. Regardless of what you might think out loud or inward this is a strange but technically accomplished piece of art.

Director: Saam Farahmand
Production Company: Partizan
Post House: BlindPig@ Absolute
Producer: Fenella Sanderson
Commissioner: Emily Tedrake
DOP: Dan Bronks

This has been online for 9 months already but is still worth sharing for the accolades it garnered alone. ‘The Light of Life’ was directed by Daihei Shibata with piano by Naomi Yaguchi and music by Debussy featuring the song “Clair de Lune”. Beautiful video.

Photographer Eliot Lee Hazel has a beautiful eye for composition and drama. Each image is tailored for scene and mood. He is a storyteller and every picture feels as though it has been lifted from a larger narrative and you are peeking in on a random moment. It leaves you curious for more and in my opinion is the mark of a talented photographer.

Comments Off on WanderlustWorld

This little video by Thinklab was inspired by a TED talk given by Stefan Sagmeister. The Thinklab crew packed up a Canon 5D and travelled through South America, Europe, and New Zealand. The video is all captured from their trip. If this doesn’t make you want to push away from the machine for a while I don’t know what will.
