Talented Icelandic designer Jónas Valtýsson has updated with new work added to his portfolio. Jónas is originally from Reykjavík but now resides in Mosfellsbær ‘where the mountains see everything and the trees keep secrets’. He has recently began freelancing and is currently looking for new project work. In my opinion, he’s only just getting warmed up and I’d expect to see even more amazing work from him in the future.

Jónas Valtýsson emailed last week and I didn’t have time until this morning to write about his updated portfolio. He has some really great work in there including the amazing typographical poster above created by photographing splashing milk. It’s been making it’s way around the blogosphere for good reason.
Thank you for the email Jónas.

Jónas Valtýsson is a young Graphic Designer and Photographer about to graduate from the Icelandic academy of the arts in Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavík. Although he may be young, his work shows a wisdom beyond his age. There is some interesting work in his design portfolio but the real gem lies in his work in photography. His stark, high-contrast imagery pulls you in and forces you to reconcile with haunting imagery. The backdrop of Iceland appears to be a perfect setting for his photos as well and goes miles in making the view feel as isolated as many of the subjects of his photographs. If you want to have a look at his work you can browse his website, or visit his Flickr page and like so many of us out there these days, he does have blog as well.
