Moscow-based artist Aske who calls himself Sicksystems recently decided to take his geometric, retro-sci-fi-twinged illustration style into the 3rd dimension for the Faces & Laces exhibit by building imagery out of cut pieces of wood that he then painted. The end result shares a surprisingly tight link with his traditional flat style.

“The Sicksystems consist of three members: Aske, Kola and Kio. It was founded in Moscow in 2003 as a graffiti crew, and today its range of activity includes graphics, graffiti, illustration, identity, typography and calligraphy.”
Sicksystems portfolio spread like wild fire across the design blogosphere this week and I am sure you might have seen it.
