David Lewandowski updates with more behind-the-scenes motion/3D work he helped create as a member of the super secret ninja motion design team behind the jaw-dropping visuals for the fanboy orgiastic cinema experience that was Tron Legacy. He’s got some excellent work to pick through both for the film and his other clients.
Here it is, the official Daft Punk music video for ‘Derezzed’, the first single off the Tron Legacy Soundtrack. If you haven’t seen the film, I give it 2 thumbs down on the writing, 2 thumbs up on visuals and 4 thumbs up on the Daft Punk soundtrack. I was really impressed by the soundtrack specifically. It sincerely elevated my opinion of Daft Punk several pegs up. It carries the movie in a notable way.

Greg Tsadilas’s VFX reel was uploaded 4 months ago but already contains samples of work he completed for Tron Legacy. His effects work is seriously mind-blowing and his reel will knock you clean off of your seat so brace yourself. He is remarkable.
Well, the news is already rolling out of this year’s Comi-Con event and the first news up is the sequel to Disney’s 1982 film, Tron. The movie has been stirring internet rumblings for a while now and is titled Tron Legacy. You can see the early preview above.
Here is what is available so far at Wikipedia:
“Tron Legacy is a forthcoming 2010 science fiction film. It is a sequel to the 1982 film Tron. Joseph Kosinski is directing the film, while the previous film director, Steven Lisberger, returns as a producer. Jeff Bridges will reprise his role as Kevin Flynn, while Garrett Hedlund will portray Flynn’s now-adult son, Sean. The other cast members include Bruce Boxleitner, Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett and John Hurt. According to the teaser trailer shown at the 2008 and 2009 Comic Con, the film will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3D.”
It looks like an interesting blend of live action and 3D. There is a strong cast on this one too so it will be equally interesting to see if it proves to actually be a really good movie.
