Kiku Ohe from The Silent Light directed this music video for the single ‘Big Jet Plane’ by Angus & Julia Stone. The video features actress Emily Barclay and was shot on location in western Sydney, Australia. I had jobs like this as a teenager and I do not miss those moments at all.

‘Verbal Headlock’ is the latest track from the new Clutchy Hopkins album “The Story Teller” recently released on Ubiquity Records. The track has already been awarded among the year’s best on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide show on BBC Radio 1.
The video was directed by Christian Borstlap.
“Record Club No. 4 is here…! Joining in this time we had three of my favorite bands— Liars, Annie Clark and Daniel Hart from St. Vincent, Sergio Dias from the legendary Brazilian band Os Mutantes, as well as RC veteran Brian Lebarton, just back from the Charlotte Gainsbourg tour. The record covered this time was 1987 blockbuster ‘Kick’ by INXS. The record was chosen by fellow Aussie, Angus from the Liars. It was recorded in a little over 12 hours on March 3rd, 2010. It was an intense, hilarious, daunting and completely fun undertaking. Thanks to everybody for being there and putting so much into it. Many classic moments, inspired performances and occasional anarchy. We’ll post the songs consecutively in the album’s original sequence. First one up is ‘Guns In The Sky.'”

Tobias Stretch spends some serious time moving some strange puppets for the single ‘Gig’ by folksy-pleasant musician Brian Goss.
Sean Stiegemeier shot this time-lapsed photography video for the band Stomacher while over the course of a year while traveling to Prague, Japan, Banff, Utah, Oregon, California and more. Sounds like a good gig.
This is the official video for “I can hardly wait” by Complicated Universal Cum soon to be released via Fake Diamond Records (whose website could use a major overhaul).
The video was directed by Ditlev Rosing & Frederik Valentin (I bet it was a tough one to shoot).

A friend/coworker of mine slipped me a copy of Midnight Juggernauts last album and I have been a fan ever since. They have just released this video for the single ‘Vital Signs’ from their forthcoming album ‘The Crystal Axis’ due out on May 28th. They decided to take the psychedelic route in this recent video directed by Krozm.

If you have yet to give the new Yeasayer album ‘Odd Blood’ let this new video directed by Radical Friend serve as the extended hand into one of the better albums to have been released so far in 2010. There is a strange kind of ‘Star Wars’ cantina thing happening in the video mixed up with some kind of 80’s post-apocalyptic Cyndi Lauper dance rave. Here is the latest from the man everyone loves to hate Kanye West for the single ‘Coldest Winter’. It’s a slick video which is to be expected, and I am going to let you finish watching it but I just want to say that Beyonce has one of the greatest videos of all time.

Evan Owen Dennis wrote in to let me know about a new music video he directed for the band The Antlers for their single ‘Bear’ off of the album ‘Hospice’. It’s a great video for a great band. The album isn’t new but the video is, possibly because more people have come around to the band this year after the albums reception last year.

Daniel Warwick directed this video for Fettes Brot which kind of reminds me of something you would have seen in the 80’s for Devo. Minus the amazing vivid color, art direction and super stylized sets of course. The whole video is pretty strange and I am not entire sure what the aim was but it is definitely entertaining.
Here is the latest video for Mia Doi Todd for the track ‘Open Your Heart’. The visual feat was achieved by director Michel Gondry who continues to cement his reputation as a true artist behind the camera.
This is the video that was released several months back for the single ‘Desert Song’ from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The video is part of a 12 part rock opera video series released by the band entitled ‘SALVO!’ The videos are directed by Benjamin Kutsko and Cory Marrero. These aren’t new but I only recently was turned onto the band and I seriously just can’t stop listening to them. They are fantastic and worth looking into if you haven’t yet.
