Ori Toor created this video as his final project for his study in illustration at the Shenkar School of Engineering and Design. It is a ‘stream of consciousness animation’ for the song ‘Lion in a Coma’ by Animal collective and was created as a frame by frame animation in Flash.
Comments Off on Great Lake Swimmers – Rivers EdgeMotion Graphics
Nir Ben Jacob created this amazing video for the Great Lake Swimmers single River’s Edge. Anyone still old enough to remember when you could watch all of the good music videos on MTV? Those days are long long gone. The internet is where it’s at for music videos and damn do they look good on Vimeo.
Comments Off on Blockhead – The Music SceneAnimation
“An animated mind melt into a post human New York where TV and animals rule. All cast to the sincerely melodic soul of Blockhead’s ‘The Music Scene.'”
Uh wow. This is trippy and totally awesome. That’s really all there is to say about it I guess. Apparently this was entirely created by A.F.Schepperd who both animated and directed the video. It’s quite a feat and I would imagine he will be sought after for a while by some new clients.

Everyone knows I am a huge MGMT fan so I just have to post this recent video for the single “It’s Working” off of their recent album directed by So Me. I went to see them last week at Red Rocks and it started raining cats and dogs. I was seriously worried about my wife’s health and proving that chivalry is not dead decided we needed to bolt. So unfortunately I did not even get to see them play a single lick on their guitars. It was a huge disappointment. I had tickets the same weekend to U2 and that show was canceled because of Bono’s back surgery. Bummer of a weekend for music but my admiration for MGMT remains strong and I will see them perform sometime in the future.
This video by Arni and Kinski for the Sigur Rós single ‘Glósóli’ is just simply beautiful. The song and the video are beautiful. Apparently it’s been online for 4 months and I don’t know how I missed it but it’s oh-so-nice. It’s art. Plain and simple. I really like Sigur Rós. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Is Charlotte Gainsbourg the new and even more hipster version of Bjork (in a sort of folk more down to Earth sort of way at least)? Whatever she is, I like her a lot and keep finding new reasons like both this song and video to be a fan. She is really multi-talented and I think we are only hitting the tip of the iceberg as to what she is capable of as an actress, musician and artist.
Comments Off on Avi Buffalo – Whats In It ForMusic
“‘What’s In It For?’ is off Avi Buffalo’s debut self-titled full-length (4/27/10) as well as the 7′ ‘What’s In It For’ single that we released back in December 2009. The version of “Jessica” on the album is altogether different from the version that is the b-side of that same single.”
This video is the latest work from Andrew Huang. You can download a free MP3 of the song here as well.
I don’t speak Spanish (sorry I am still a dumb American [but I am making a concentrated effort]) so I can’t tell you precisely what is going on here or if this is an authorized video for Delorean or not. I can tell you that I like what Arts and Crafts Mexico is creating though.
There is a lot of interesting things at play here that meld music, 3D, architecture, editing and off the street footage into something that just kind of works.

Comments Off on Angus & Julia Stone – Big Jet PlaneMusic
Kiku Ohe from The Silent Light directed this music video for the single ‘Big Jet Plane’ by Angus & Julia Stone. The video features actress Emily Barclay and was shot on location in western Sydney, Australia. I had jobs like this as a teenager and I do not miss those moments at all.
Does this remind anyone else a little bit of the 90’s? Any of you old enough to remember being a teen and watching MTV in the 90’s anyway.

Comments Off on Hold Your Horses – 70 MillionMusic
As an art lover you have to appreciate the homage to some of the most famous works of art reconstructed in this video for the single ’70 Million’ by the fun and funny band ‘Hold Your Horses’.
A dreamy little diddy directed by Directed by TAKCOM. You can download the Vital EP for free here. To be perfectly honest the music is a little saccharin for my taste but the motion work for the video is beautiful.
In the watered-down world of popular music genre bending artist M.I.A. refuses to bend to the will and continues to rock, shock and inspire thought. You go girl.
