Right off just from the completely different look of their website you know you can expect some seriously tight design from Komboh. A recent drop in on their portfolio revealed exactly that as well as some notable updates. Excellent work all around.
The Daily Mail has some great photos posted showing some rare behind the scenes horseplay with the now legendarily iconic personalities behind the original Star Wars trilogy. If you are a fan (like me) then it’s a fun little treasure trove to dig through.
Liam Brazier creates simple vector geometric-styled portraits of pop culture icons like Darth Vader and C3PO. As you could well imagine, they are a lot of fun to look at.
Patrick Boivin was recently responsible for the web hit ‘Ironbaby‘ which I never did post has released the above video which is also sure to become a hit in it’s own right. He explains that there were two things he wanted as a child but never got, ‘a real dog and a Kenner AT-AT Walker’. I had and still have a ton of Star Wars toys but never did manage to cop an AT-AT Walker either.
Hong Kong based designer, artist and illustrator John Woo (no joke apparently) has crafted a brilliant little series of paintings mashing pop culture references to Star Wars and popular fashion labels. Woo has an experimental portfolio showcasing a broad talent making him someone to keep an eye on since there is no telling what he will do next.

Well, again I am sorry for the seemingly disproportionate amount of politics to art on my blog lately, but there is just so much entertaining content right now in the political arena that it is impossible to keep away from it. This video may be low-fi but since this blog is about the collision between creativity and culture, I cannot think of a better video that marries creativity and politics so harmoniously. It must have been a pain to edit this but it is just hilarious. It’s impossible not to have a laugh and enjoy it.
