Defective Comics is a humorous side project put together by poster artists Olly Moss and Daniel Danger featuring your favorite caped crusader hanging out in unusual places. It’s a nice little trifecta of illustration, pop and satire.

This trailer for Resistance 3 references some of the art created for the cover by Olly Moss but it goes way beyond that. The minimal use of color and reference to printed effects make this a showstopping piece of animation completed by Spov Design + Moving Image.
Designer/illustrator and rarely do the two meet so perfectly right down the middle, Olly Moss debuted images of his soon-to-be-released Captain America posters through Mondo. Apparently these may only be released at Comicon in San Diego which will no doubt cause a stir amongst die-hard Mondo fans (myself included). They depict imagery in keeping with 1940’s WWII propaganda since that is the period in which the new film is set. They simple but wonderfully designed posters.
If you want to see practically all of the fantastic paper cutout silhouette portraits created by pop-culture-enthusiast artist Olly Moss from his solo exhibition at Gallery 1988 in LA, you can do so here.
Olly Moss caused quite a stir with his recent lasercut silhouette solo show at Gallery 1988. The gallery has sponsored and help bring forward some very interesting artists who are merging influences from movies, cartoons and pop culture. Olly’s poster work for the Alamo Drafthouse has helped his work reach a growing and passionate audience hungry for more. His show was a smash success with people lined up around the block to buy his prints. Apparently celebrities like Patton Oswalt were even at the show to grab a print while they lasted. Threadless has put together a nice little synopsis of the show that you can watch above and Slash Film also has a great interview with Moss posted on their site.
British vector illustrator and graphic designer Olly Moss reimagined the original Star Wars trilogy posters for Mondo. Take it from a Star Wars generation super fan (I’m buying Star Wars stuff for my little boys room) these posters are super awesome. They go on sale tomorrow at a random time and are most likely available in limited quantities. Get that checkbook out and stand by.
Designer/illustrator Olly Moss has updated his Flickr-folio with some super fun work for Mondo Tees including the posters above. He’s kicked out some excellent poster work as of late.
I have mentioned Olly Moss and his work here before but I was notified this week that he is the originator of the old school Penguin book cover/poster idea. He recently put up a new series of movie posters that he intends to print in that same style. To see the full breadth of his work visit his Flickr-folio here.
Some clever design and illustration work by Olly Moss.
