Wow, beautiful cinematography/photography in this video. The song is called ‘I’m confused’ from the Handsome Furs. Apologies, my header plugin doesn’t allow for special punctuation like commas (even though they don’t seem that special).

Pitchfork updated with a brand new website that makes it a little easier to find your way around their massive amount of content. This may not be design related but Pitchfork has long been one of my first stops for music reviews and information. I check their album reviews a couple times a week and have for a very long time now.
WARNING: And I am serious here, be careful watching this if you have epilepsy or prone to seizures. This is one of those videos that really could send you into shock (no I am not being sarcastic).
Other than that, enjoy.

“Directors cut of music video I (Lorcan Finnegan) made for a band called Orba Squara. The video was all one steadicam shot with animated/illustrated elements added in using 3D tracking software.

This really cool video was created utilizing photocopies for the band Sickboy’s single ‘Silence in Conversation’. Director Lorca Finnegan got the idea through the concept of the identical twins who make up the band being ‘carbon copies’ of one another. Hundreds or photocopies were made to create the lip-sync effect. The idea was also influenced through the black and white photocopied flyers that unsigned bands often use to promote themselves and their venues.

Pretty wild 80’s-inspired video for industrial shock rockers Mindless Self Indulgence. A little jarring but pretty damn cool.
Discovered via Surfstation, who is still going strong after all these years.
It doesn’t get much weirder than this video for Black Moth Super Rainbow’s ‘Sun Lips’ but that is probably just the way they like it. The song is off of their album ‘Dandelion Gum’. I have been listening to the album a lot lately while I work because it helps me get into the zone. The video is definitely strange and so is BMSR but you have to give the music a chance. Let it in. Trust me, it gets better with every listen.
You can learn more about BMSR at their website and if you dig it they also have a new project out under the name Tobacco (the album is titled, ‘Fucked Up Friends’) that is also worth picking up.
