“Started in 2002 by Daniel Frigo, Platform5, (the name derived from Daniel’s time spent waiting as a child at a Florence train station), was built upon the already extensive experience gained after 15 years in the Fashion Industry, alongside some of Australia’s most iconic Brands.
Established as a name in Visual Merchandising, Platform5 has built upon its 3D approach to design to become a multi-disciplinary design studio.”

“Kareena Zerefos is an artist and freelance illustrator who lives and works in Sydney, Australia. With a background in graphic design, completing a Bachelor of Design at the College of Fine Arts, her personal creative work began to move away from graphics becoming more illustrative by the end of 2005.
Conceptually based around memories, dreams and nostalgia; Kareena creates a bittersweet, slightly unsettling feeling in her work by exploring themes of isolation and escapism. She works using a variety of media, including pencil, gouache and ink, and often combines traditional drawing with digital graphics.”

It is going to take me a while to get the images of the sculptural pieces in Patricia Piccinini’s latest exhibit at the Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery out of my mind. Fantastic yet incredibly disturbing at the same time. Especially with the use of small children. Bizarre and awesome.

“Coöp is a collective of creatives dedicated to the practise of visual communications.
Visionary in approach, we are not limited by discipline, instead we work openly and collaboratively across many platforms.
Our design philosophy is holistic. We combine critical thought, style, function and finish to create aesthetically pleasing designs that work. Uniting theoretical foundation with imagination, our work is both ordered and playful and is defined as contemporary with classic sensibilities.
Responsive to brief, we strategically interpret our client’s values and personality into their projects. Open to continual learning, we build solid relationships with our clients and encourage them to get involved with the design process.
Believing good design should be for everyone, we work cross-sector on a range of projects varying in size and complexity. From the tiniest bespoke brief to large-scale projects we apply an equal dedication to excellence and this commitment is our driving force.”
Awesome work guys. Sincerely. Thank you so much for sending an email.

There are some really nice fusions of imagery and typography happening in the portfolio of Manila-born, Australian-bound graphic designer, sometimes photographer and onetime drummer Paolo Lim who goes by the name Supersteady.
I love that the album cover above was created in 2006 and it looks like it came straight out of the 70’s.
