I thought I had written about Gaap Studio before but I guess not. There are some really stunning fashion-based images in the portfolio of this Polish photographer. Good stuff.
Thank you for the link Kim. I appreciate it.

I just want to be hanging out in some of the sets that Andy Barter photographs. One of his photos features a tipped over modern chair with a pair of black lace panties thrown over the leg. It’s brilliance incarnate.
There are stunningly gorgeous images of stunningly gorgeous people in the photography portfolio of Loic Peoc’h. Beautiful images.
Alexey Titarenko has been around a while and his experience comes through in the stunning and haunting imagery he captures of his Russian homeland. There are some absolutely gorgeous images in his portfolio some of which harken back to the photographic period of Russian Constructivism. Beautiful work.
Jacob Langvad sent me a note regarding his Photography this morning. He has some really exceptional work in his portfolio. Beautiful images.
Here is his bio copied from his website:
“Jacob Langvad is a Danish still-photographer and visual director. His work is based around fashion, portrait, landscape and advertising photography. Jacob Langvad has worked with exclusive, internationally recognized commercial clients and magazines, as well as for humanitarian causes.
Jacob Langvad’s work can be described as having an unembellished, yet informed documentary style. His portrait and commercial work reflect an intense labor of subtlety and precision, where any evidence of manipulation comes across as completely natural or non-existent.
After graduating from the Danish School of Journalism in 2003 with a degree in photojournalism, Jacob Langvad received a 1-year scholarship to FABRICA, Benetton’s Communication Research Center in Italy, where he moved to work as an artist in residence.
Since 2004, Jacob Langvad has lived between New York City, London, Copenhagen and São Paulo. He has worked in Haïti, Croatia, Israel, Iceland, USA, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, People’s Republic of China, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico, among other places.
From 2006 to 2007, Jacob Langvad worked as founding photographic director of Vs. Magazine, and from March 2007 to May 2008, he worked as founding visual director and photographer at BOLA Sociology Design in São Paulo. Currently, Langvad can be found sharing time between New York and São Paulo.”
There are some beautiful images in the book of the Dutch House of Photography. There are also some great videos on the site detailing how they set up their photo shoots.

Wow.
Matthew Newton has posted a new interview with photographer Nikola Tamindzic. His images form the visual lynchpin of Nick Denton’s Gawker Media since 2004. Gawker has become synonymous with documenting New York nightlife debauchery. Recently he has switched over to fashion and editorial. His nightlife images aren’t easily forgotten and tend to invoke shock and sometimes a little disgust. All of them are interesting though and are hard to peel your eyes from causing what I would call ‘curiosity traffic’ similar to driving slowly by the scene of an accident. It’s interesting work and an interesting interview.
The photographs of William Hundley kind of defy all logical explanation. I don’t really know what else to say about him and his work. Hopefully that is enough to entice you. I pondered the two images above for a long time. I mean, how do you coax a surprised look out of a horse or balance a chihuahua on cheeseburgers? I don’t know but William Hundley does.
Wonderful images pour out of the camera of Photographer Timothy Saccenti. He has photographed some of my favorite musicians such as Bloc Party, Atlas Sound, Erykah Badu, Animal Collective, LCD Sound System and Battles. His portfolio is full of gripping imagery. Brilliant work.
Juliane Eirich was born in Munich, Germany in 1979. After some internships in Miami she went on to study at the Academy of Photographic design in Munich. Upon graduating she did a stint in New York then on to Honolulu. She now lives in Seoul, South Korea due to a scholarship of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
She is an astute observer of humanity’s impact on our planet. Her images are quiet and subtle highlighting contemplative barren landscapes.
Beautiful work.
Wow. I mean wow. Mind-bendingly beautiful super close hyper-real photography from Tim Flach. Just stunning imagery. Spectacular and totally original.
Discovered by way of Formfiftyfive.
Photographer Theo Jemison sent me an email today to show me his work. He is a very accomplished photographer who currently calls Los Angeles home. He has some beautiful and very human work in his portfolio. He has photographed some of my favorite musicians and has managed to capture a very raw sense of their personality in his images.
Thank you for the email Theo.
Utterly bizarre but totally absorbing photography and fashion-inspired projects by Bart Hess. His website isn’t exactly the most intuitive site I have visited but if you can mine out all of the content, there is some really interesting imagery to be found.
Wayne Levin is a Photographer her captures amazingly beautiful and completely original black and white photographs underwater. I was really struck by his work. It’s gorgeous.
Here is all you need to know about the very gifted photographer Branislav Kropilak copied from the ‘about‘ section of his website:
“Born in Slovakia, Branislav spent most of his childhood in Belgium, travelling a lot
around the world with his parents from an early age. He graduated at the renowned
Private Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and later on completed studies at the
Institute of Digital Photography in Prague. He spent several years working for the
leading creative agencies such as BBDO, McCann-Erickson or Saatchi & Saatchi.
The main theme of his work is investigating the way in which modern technology
has shaped the human environment and our lives. He is inspired by industrial design,
architecture and urbanism. It has been said that his work betrays his roots as an
advertising professional; the images produced being cool, stark and unforgiving. The
utopian bent of his work with its appreciation of geometry and perspective have
already earned him a solid base of collectors and praise from critics worldwide.”
The image above is from a series of plane landing shot with a long exposure. They are really stunning and a testament to the fact that you don’t always need Photoshop to create and capture an extraordinary image.
Beautiful images of beautiful people doing beautiful things in the portfolio of London-based Photographer and image maker Klas Strom. It’s refreshing to see a ‘personal’ section on his site as well where you can peruse some photographs taken during downtime that really showcase his eye for composition outside the fashion world.
Strom is represent by Zara Grey if you are interested in commissioning his services.
There is really nothing I can tell you as far as the details go regarding PHOKS, other than whoever they are, they are French and I love the art direction of some of their photography work. It pushes that hyper-reality threshold to where it almost becomes cartoon-like.
