Production studio Royale has updated with a new site for the Holidays that includes some visually stunning motion design, animation, illustration and design work. There is no doubting the talent involved and from the pictures on the site, it looks like a very nice place to work.
“This Short Film Animation Project has been created by students of The Animation School to gain vital work experience.” Well okay then. This is a pretty amazing piece for student work. It seems like there has been a lot of that going around lately. Stick around at the end to see the credits for all involved.

Olivier Trudeau brings you a pretty fun little stop motion video all about ninjas and who could possibly resist that? Y’all got nuttin’ but love fo tha ninjas.
I missed this little diddy by MK12 for FITC. It’s pretty amazing if you visit the little micro-site for the piece and watch the making of and realize that they cell animated the piece. I am always impressed and amazed by motion shops that turn the key from 3d and After Effects into full on cell animation. It’s not an easy thing to do and MK12 did it in style.

This was the first time we created an 3d animated movie during our studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and we would have never thought that it became that successful.

“For years we have had an urge to create a character-driven animation piece. For us, the opportunity came knocking in the Fall of 2010 disguised in the form of a pitch for ‘Funcheez’.
We got excited and pulled out all the stops for the pitch. We designed characters and environments, drew up storyboards, colour boards, and boardomatics. The pitch was beautiful and fun, but in the end the client decided to go with another studio for the spot.
But it was too late—we had somehow fallen completely in-love with our strange little alien creatures and rather than relegating them to our salon des refusés to gather dust, decided to take the plunge and build a story around them.
