Well, while we are on the subject of t-shirts today I think Hecklewood deserves a mention for their spring collection this year. There are some new classics in their line for sure. The tee posted above is testament to that fact.

Beautiful photographs from Thierry Le Goués. Just gorgeous.
I’ve been a huge fan of Erwin Olaf for quite some time. I recently picked up Black Magic, White Noise from my bookshelf and it reminded me how much of a positive influence his work was to my development. If you haven’t seen his photography, here’s your chance.
I thought I had written about Gaap Studio before but I guess not. There are some really stunning fashion-based images in the portfolio of this Polish photographer. Good stuff.
Thank you for the link Kim. I appreciate it.
One of my favorite simple and contemporary t-shirt makers, Ser-vice has updated with some new designs. Always tasty, clean and timeless.
There are stunningly gorgeous images of stunningly gorgeous people in the photography portfolio of Loic Peoc’h. Beautiful images.
Jacob Langvad sent me a note regarding his Photography this morning. He has some really exceptional work in his portfolio. Beautiful images.
Here is his bio copied from his website:
“Jacob Langvad is a Danish still-photographer and visual director. His work is based around fashion, portrait, landscape and advertising photography. Jacob Langvad has worked with exclusive, internationally recognized commercial clients and magazines, as well as for humanitarian causes.
Jacob Langvad’s work can be described as having an unembellished, yet informed documentary style. His portrait and commercial work reflect an intense labor of subtlety and precision, where any evidence of manipulation comes across as completely natural or non-existent.
After graduating from the Danish School of Journalism in 2003 with a degree in photojournalism, Jacob Langvad received a 1-year scholarship to FABRICA, Benetton’s Communication Research Center in Italy, where he moved to work as an artist in residence.
Since 2004, Jacob Langvad has lived between New York City, London, Copenhagen and São Paulo. He has worked in Haïti, Croatia, Israel, Iceland, USA, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, People’s Republic of China, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico, among other places.
From 2006 to 2007, Jacob Langvad worked as founding photographic director of Vs. Magazine, and from March 2007 to May 2008, he worked as founding visual director and photographer at BOLA Sociology Design in São Paulo. Currently, Langvad can be found sharing time between New York and São Paulo.”
There are some beautiful images in the book of the Dutch House of Photography. There are also some great videos on the site detailing how they set up their photo shoots.
Sixpack France recently released some new shirts. They have had an ongoing series of premium artist designed shirts for a while now similar to 2k. There are some really fantastic shirts in their collection now from the likes of Cody Hudson, Parra, Steven Harrington and Grotesk. The only major setback is that the shirts will cost your 37 Euros and that is a little rich for a working-class american’s blood these days, if you were to ask my opinion. Sorry Cody Hudson, I love you but I most likely won’t be rocking your steez this summer.
There are some really classic watercolor style fashion illustrations in the portfolio of well-known illustrator David Downton. I am a sucker for all things Twiggy.
I have realized lately I have pretty much all together stopped posting cool places to find well designed clothing. So, I am going to make an effort to do something clothing and fashion related posts more frequently. With that said, there are some pretty cool wares at NYC-based Built By Wendy. The exploding Mickey Mouse shirt is a must have.
This has got to be one of the nerdiest design shirts ever made and yet it is totally awesome and I want one really bad. What a great idea. The shirt, designed by Turn Nocturnal, features all your favorite Sans-Serif typefaces including Helvetica, Meta, Avenir, Frutiger, Officina, Optima, Gotham, Akzidenz Grotesk, Univers, Trade Gothic, Din, Agenda, Interstate, News Gothic, Myriad, Eurostile, Futura, and Gill Sans. Notably, the shirt does not feature Arial (thank you for that).

In an effort to stir excitement, t-shirt maker Johnny Cupcakes has released a video announcing the opening of a new store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The store sounds like it could be a lot of fun but Johhny’s delivery is pretty dry. What really blows my mind though is that by selling t-shirts for 30 plus bucks a piece he could actually afford to decorate and pay rent for a store on Melrose Ave. I had no idea his shirts were that popular. As a matter of fact I thought the whole t-shirt craze had kind of reached a saturation point. Guess not. It made me consider selling t-shirts though. I just need some kind of gimmick like a monkey or cupcakes or something of that nature. Hmm.
Discovered by way of Kitsune Noir.
I have seen the work of Frank Barthold before and thought for sure I had posted it but apparently I was wrong. His images are full of vibrant color that is almost tangible. Big, bright, iconic images fill his book. It’s pure candy.
Utterly bizarre but totally absorbing photography and fashion-inspired projects by Bart Hess. His website isn’t exactly the most intuitive site I have visited but if you can mine out all of the content, there is some really interesting imagery to be found.
Interesting illustration work by Geraldine Georges with little else on her website about her other than her work. Let it speak for itself I guess.
Acclaimed London illustrator Hellovon has stocked his store with some new goods. He has a simple tote bag and a t-shirt available now if you are interested in supporting him through rocking his wears. You can find them, along with his art prints for sale at his Shopvon online store. I am a big fan of his work which you can view at his site. His work keeps appearing in a lot of the magazines I read and he has collaborated with some of my favorite art and designers lately.
