Some sweet motion graphic/graphic illustration action going down at Blirp Studio, not the least of which is the hot typographical treatment on their splash page.

Wow, there is a lot of work in the portfolio of Joost Korngold at the new Renascent site. Big update, big site and a lot of good work.
My friends at Lifelongfriendshipsociety have relaunched with some exceptional motion work.
Props guys and great song selection on the new reel.
New kick ass work, reel and website from Los Angeles based Justin Harder.
Maybe he and I could work together and then call our joint effort ‘Harder Cox’. It almost sounds meant to be. I know that was juvenile, but I just couldn’t help myself.
Well, how exactly did the credit crisis go down? How did the entire system implode?
Fortunately, in fine motion graphic style, Jonathan Jarvis was nice enough to outline the situation in a digestable way.
You can learn more about the project here.
A little more about the project and the Jarvis’s work:
“The goal of giving form to a complex situation like the credit crisis is to quickly supply the essence of the situation to those unfamiliar and uninitiated. This project was completed as part of my thesis work in the Media Design Program, a graduate studio at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
For more on my broader thesis work exploring the use of new media to make sense of a increasingly complex world, visit jdjarvis.com.”
Thanks for the link Joyengine.
3d artist, John Cherniack has updated his reel with some awe-inspiring new work. He has worked for some of the biggest names in the business and its easy to see why when you take a look at his work.
Remember Gmunk from way back in the day? If you have been a design junky as long as I have, I am betting you do. I have wondered for a while where he has been and what he has been up to and he has just posted a new reel with a new site to follow soon. His work is better than ever and it looks like he has been incredibly busy.
Not entirely sure how the work of Blur slipped my attention. Amazing work for a very impressive roster of clients. I know I have seen their work before but I just never put two and two together. Needless to say, it was a nice little discovery today.
Special Guest is the playful alter ego of 1st Avenue Machine. Really spectacular animation for an experimental playground. I love to see people stretching themselves this way. Props go to 1st Avenue Machine for putting in some work.
F5 looks like it could be a really great event to attend this year if you are looking for a sincere creative recharge. The event is taking place April 16-17 in New York City.
Here is a little about the event:
“F5 is founded on the belief that true change occurs when you look outside your world and explore new horizons. The festival fosters creative collisions—unexpected insights from sources you didn’t see coming. The goal is nothing less than to change the way you think about your work and your life.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
To find out more visit the official F5 website where you can sign up to purchase tickets to the event. Good times guaranteed in NYC.
This really cool video was created utilizing photocopies for the band Sickboy’s single ‘Silence in Conversation’. Director Lorca Finnegan got the idea through the concept of the identical twins who make up the band being ‘carbon copies’ of one another. Hundreds or photocopies were made to create the lip-sync effect. The idea was also influenced through the black and white photocopied flyers that unsigned bands often use to promote themselves and their venues.
It all makes for a great video.
Tyson Ibele created this short film for the CGSociety challenge. Pretty incredible work for a challenge entry.
Some nice motion work from Man Vs Machine. Kick ass name too. Wish I would have thought of that. Simple, ironic and unforgettable.
New experimental video made with Processing from Flight 404. I love this stuff. I just find it beautiful.

Although this is the first I have written of their creative exploits, Shotopop has updated their site with new hotness. Shotopop is Casper Franken and Carin Standford dabbling in the art of design, illustration, shiny, tingly, wispy moving imagery.
Wait through the load times because there is some interesting work to look through.
“This is an experimental film made up of over 35,000 photographs. It combines an innovative mix of stop motion and live projection mapping techniques.”
Directed by Xavier Chassaing.
New video for the first single off of Beast’s new self-titled album. Directed by Ben Steiger Levine.
