Early in 09, the band Omega Code will release their debut album, along with a book, a DVD and a free series of posters based on their upcoming album “Ω”. A limited number of 2300 posters are going to be printed and distributed around the globe.
Anyone remember that kick ass Tool album that also had a name you didn’t really know what to make of.
23 artists were invited to illustrate the artwork for the project. Artists and designers like Joshua Davis, Si Scott, Mike Cina, Michael Paul Young, Mate Steinforth, Matthew Curry, Nelson Balaban, Tom Muller, Motomichi Nakamura, Danny Franzreb, Robert Lindström, Andreas Pihlström, Chris Hewitt, Hello Hikimori, Sebastian Onufszak, Animatório, Colletivo, Nacionale, Unstru, Tomás Peña, João Oliveira, Peter Jaworowski, Umeric and Doomedo.
You can learn more about the release via Omega Code’s Facebook, MySpace, Orkut and Twitter.
Lets just get out with it already and call 2009 the year of the triangle.
“Running with the Beast is a video for the band zZz
Roel made a music video, and a series of posters. The project is about two artists who have created the conditions to capture rage n a sytematic way.
Two colored cocks print their fight on a sheet of paper.”
I am pretty sure that is the last time you will see the words ‘colored cocks’ used in a context that won’t get you punched in the face. Those sure are some mean and angry cocks though. You gotta admit that. They are artsy too.
Bloc Party’s latest video for the single ‘Talons’ from their third upcoming album Intimacy.
Digging both the song and the video.
Directed by Alan Poon for the Bowerbirds. Amazing video.
N.A.S.A. (Squeak E. Clean & DJ Zegon) assembled an all-star team including Money ft. David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge & Z-Trip for this track from their debut album “The Spirit Of Apollo”. The agit-prop video is directed by Syd Garon & Paul Griswold, & features the work of artist Shepard Fairey.
Discovered via my boys at Joyengine.
Sorry, the video is actually titled ‘Soon We’ll be Found’. My wordpress headline feature doesn’t allow for special characters which sucks occasionally in a critical instance like this. Oh well.
Anyway, I have been looking for this video for a long time and only now realized it was on Vimeo two months ago. Sia is fascinating. I recently saw her on Letterman and kept trying to remind myself to post something about her. I saw a link to the video on Booooooom today and thought I had better post something.
Say what you will but she is one of a kind.

“Universal Music commissioned Wyld Stallyons to produce a music video for Irish indie outfit, The Blizzards’ new single The Reason.
Taking the lyrics as our inspiration, we took the germ of an idea from the singer of the band and combined it with some thoughts of our own about unrequited love and giant monsters destroying a city. We blended 3D and 2D animation to create a strange, monochromatic world for our characters to inhabit; and thanks to the power of Relentless energy drinks and our ability to go without sleep for days, the video was turned around in record time.”
I really really like this video and I love the song. Both are fantastic. Animated and directed by We Buy Your Kids. Great great stuff.
Directed, animated and produced by the creative people at Special Problems.
Fantastic direction and motion work in the stellar portfolio of Krozm.
Director Christopher Mills latest video for the song ‘Crooked Legs’ by The Acorn.
Beautiful video.
Directed by Dan Brown of Oh, Hello for Handfed’s song Above the Sea. Beautiful video.
I stumbled across this video this morning via Booooooom (which is a absolutely fantastic blog by the way) and was really impressed, not just by the video itself but by the music as well. The video was directed by Seattle-based Matt Daniels (Thinklab) and is for musician Damien Jurado’s song, Caskets. The cinematography is top notch and it’s just a really beautifully shot video.

“All of Me” is the first video from the prodigious South African talent, Chris Chameleon’s latest album, Made Available. The video is a collaboration between Brighton based Shotopop and the nice people from WIZZ in Paris. Designed and directed by Shotopop and produced by WIZZdesign, the video features an array of paper sets, a mass of paper cut-outs, some careful hand held camera work, and some nifty 3D touches courtesy of the skilled hands at WIZZ. The result is a mix of mediums, minds and techniques all tied together to form an emotionally charged visual journey set to a hauntingly beautiful vocal performance.
It is with great pride that we present to you “All of Me”.
