There is some super slick motion/animation/3d work in the portfolio of Agency Collective. Really beautiful imagery with serious attention to detail.

Mathieu Gérard created “Steel Life” for his master thesis at Arts et Technologies de l’Image. There isn’t really a tangible narrative to the film. It is more a work of abstract realism utilizing imagery inspired by nature.
The soundtrack, composed by Mathieu Alvado and performed by the Star Pop Orchestra, is really amazing and does a lot of work to create a really compellingly grand sense of scope and drama. As an abstract piece, it is really beautiful.
The film will be screened at this year’s F5. festival (I so wish I could be there).
You can also check out the inner-workings in Gérard’s making-of film.
All of this found by way of the almight Motionographer.
Sebastien LABAN emailed me today to let me know about a 3D animated short-film project he and his wife, Virginie GOYONS (why the capitalized last names [I don’t know]) have been working on in their spare time entitled, ‘Meet Meline’. They have released a trailer for the film that you can view above and in my opinion it looks amazing.

Really cool little short film. Expertly done.
There are some mind-bending crazy code-driven visuals in the Flickr-folio of Mi Ha.
James Griffin is offering a free hi-res download of his font ‘Cloak’ at Font Lorry. It’s a pretty slick looking alphabet developed in 3D. I threw together the little layout above just to help you visualize it’s creative potential. Get down on it.
“Cloak was developed for a project that never came to fruition. At first it was only a few letter-forms. It lay dormant for a few months until James re-discovered it and decided to make it into an complete uppercase character set. Cloak is loosely based on the folds and forms of black material. It was produced using 3D rendering and photo-manipulation.”
“CG Work inspired by the images of the electronic microscopes.
3ds Max animation with Scanline Render and After Effects for the composition.
CG Work & composition by Leandro Salerno”
No real point other than pure experimentation going on here but I thought it was pretty damn cool.

Hush has updated with new work and a new reel for 2009. Brilliant motion work. Top notch. Keep them on file for your next project. You can’t miss.
Some pretty kick ass 3d from David Lohr at the newly relaunched Science Under Fire. Super cool. Crazy how those simple forms can combine to create something so compelling.
Finally forced me to start a 3d category.
Chenman seamlessly combines 3d rendering with photography to create some beautiful images. She originally made a name for herself doing covers for the Chinese magazine ‘Vision’ and has since continued on to create work for Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and Esquire Magazine. She does all of her post-production work herself. Amazing.

Ben Rousseau creates some subtle yet striking furniture with an added glowing bonus touch. As I am in currently in the market for purchasing a new home, I would love to have that t.v. stand and table in my living room. Gorgeous design.
