Lifelongfriendshipsociety, whom I’ve worked with in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, have updated both with a new website and reel to reflect their efforts in 2010 and 2011. From all appearances it seems they are still totally kicking ass, having a damn good time doing it and still being the quirky, fun and genuinely creative people that they are.
This is a tasty audiovisual experiment with Tuskle by Vicetto.

Motion designer/director Danny Yount spoke recently at the Semi-Permanent event in Hong Kong about producing motion design for Hollywood, and what it takes to break into the close-knit world of Hollywood as a motion designer. Danny is someone we really look up to and I know we are not alone in our respect for him when it comes to what he has achieved in recent years as a motionographer.
‘Manifesto Fragments’ is a projects spearheaded by Tendril Design and Animation that was originally conceived in order to find and channel new inspiration as to what attracted Tendril to the motion and animation industry in the first place. The project is playing out as bits of a visual manifesto with each part being able to stand on it’s own while also working as a part of the manifesto whole. The first in the series is above and is entitled ‘Seed’.

Wow, we really really like this experimental typographical (numerical) collage experiment executed by German designer Kid Grandios that can be viewed via his Flickrfolio.

“The West Lobby is a kinetic space, centered around 8 giant central columns wrapped with mirrors and LCD screens. Rockwell Group’s LAB installed 384 displays on the columns and 26 behind the registration desk to create a platform for a variety of customized immersive digital experiences in the space. Off this lobby is the dream-like Vesper bar with a ceiling covered in metal mesh to look like a cloud, and shimmering silvers and whites throughout the space.”

Toronto based motion designer Nicolas Girard recently updated his reel for 2011 with some tasty goodness.
There are some good things happening at Plunk, a motion design and 3D studio that I can tell you nothing about because there is no information on their website whatsoever. But there is some good work happening.
London- based motion design studio We Are Seventeen are cranking out some wild work using both graphics and 3D for a wide variety of big-name clients.
Motiphe attempts to relate the story of dependency and addiction set to the musical background of The Glitch Mob ft. Swan single ‘Between two Points’. Gorgeous 3D visuals.
There are some interesting abstract 3D renders utilizing dramatic lighting and minimal typography within the Behance-folio of German designer/illustrator Kid Grandios.
Strange animated gif art is happening at Antlers WiFi and it’s being collaged with some interesting choices of photography.
French 3D illustrator, photographer and animator Andreas Shabelnikov has updated with some beautiful and often apocalyptic new imagery. It’s an unusual body of work and looks like a powerful niche to be currently occupying.
I’ll just come out and say from my personal pulpit that in my humble opinion Thomas Traum is kind of awesome. His strange ethereal abstract work has drawn in the attention of equally awesome people like Universal Everything and he has recently updated his website with a big tasty page of delectable, bright and shiny strangeness.
French web, design and animation studio Hellohikimori has updated with another in your face website featuring jarring music and kick ass project work. They are loud, proud and unafraid to go all out when it comes to color. Their stance is attracting some big clients lately and it’s great to see them doing so well.
Recent graduate Misha Shyukin asks that you watch his graduation short-art-movie-video-thingy with your eyes half closed.
Spanish motion and graphic design studio TOCH has been creating some jarringly colorful work. Their rebrand ident work for Antena 3 TV is gorgeously abstract.
