The sculptural artwork of David Altmejd is utterly bizarre yet absolutely fascinating. I would absolutely love to see some of it in person. He is definitely an exciting talent.
Here is a quick little quote pulled from the link:
“the unusual nature of altmejd’s work is perhaps one of the key reasons behind his quick rise to prominence. figures made from an assortment of plaster, morphed mannequin parts, animal heads, crystals and birds are his primary subject. he combines these things together to create a fantastical world that plays with the conventions of reality.”

I am really digging some of the art in the portfolio of Nadine Byrne. The wearable textile sculptures in particular are really intriguing.
I saw that there was a new Depthcore pack out last week and for some reason spaced on posting it. The new series is called ‘Heist’ and you can see it here. I have always been a fan of Depthcore. Sometimes it can be a little hit and miss and some people aren’t always fans of the crazy digital illustration/design set but I love to see people experimenting off the hinges and pushing technology to produce visuals that are just exciting to look at. How could free-thinking creative be bad in any circumstance?
Eric White paints some very detailed and interesting oil paintings. Technically speaking, he is on a level that is not easy to reach.
Sam Messenger has put together an unusual body of work featuring some really meticulous collage work that breaches the gap between art and graphic design.

Photographer Eugenio Recuenco is quite possibly one of my favorite photographers. He just keeps filling his portfolio with the most strange, amazing and colorful imagery. His work is just vivid. It jumps right out at you and I am continually inspired by his work.
I wrote of him around a year ago but since then there has been numerous new images added. All of which are worth a click.
I am really liking the deconstructive portrait graphite work from San Francisco artist Wesley Burt.
Some really moody and beautiful new illustration work happening now in the portfolio of Jon Klassen at Burst of Beaden.
Has Jirat James Patradoon stopped being awesome since I last dropped in on his ass-kicking illustration portfolio? No actually, he has gotten awesomer.
Beautiful, personal and inspiring imagery abounds in the artistic and fashion photography portfolio of Clayton Cubitt.
Banksy has updated his site with more of the kind of work that flings shit into the eyes of our overly commercialized, materialistic and hypocritical society. No use trying to cover yourself because no one is safe. Thank you Banksy.
You just have to see the paintings of Nicola Verlato to believe them. I haven’t witnessed something more violent yet beautiful, vivid and wildly imaginative, all generated by hand, in quite a while. The pencil drawings bear witness to the ability to achieve an absolutely amazing image with zero disruption from mind to hand. Amazing.
