Carly Elizabeth Schmitt has created some really cool paintings and drawings that she has on display through her Flickr account. I stumbled upon them somehow today and got stuck on her work right away.

I wrote about the illustration work of Julia Sonmi Heglund a long while back but her work has resurfaced as of late and it appears she has updated her book with some new illustrations. Her work keeps getting better and she has some really nice han-rendered work in her book now.
Matthew Woodson A.K.A. Ghostco has updated his website with more of his absolutely beautiful illustration work. I am just continually amazed by Woodson’s raw talent. He is easily one of my most favorite illustrators at the moment and as an Art Director, I am dying to find a project to bring him in on. If you are seeking a talented illustrator, hire this man. He is the real deal. Beautiful, human and contemporary work that commands attention and respect.
He also has very reasonably priced prints for sale now as well. If you support the arts, pick one up and keep him working. Talent like his deserves to be supported.
Really fantastic, simple and original illustration work from Ruth Ishbel Munro. I really dig her style.
The illustration collective, Toy, has got some stellar illustrators under it’s umbrella. Great work. Keep any eye out and maybe put the number in the rolodex for your next project because it looks like they have to talent to deliver.
There is some really cool Beastie Boys inspired artwork here.
I posted Jacob Magraw Mickelson’s work to my last blog but was reminded today of his work at Design You Trust and thought I had better repost it. Really amazing paintings and drawings not just from a technical standpoint but also with the use of color. Strange but beautiful work.
Tim Gough has been busy and it shows. He has provided illustrations to numerous publications and has several covers to his name.
I thought for sure I had written about Stefan Venbroek before because I had seen his work before and absolutely loved it. Particularly his illustration of Thom Yorke. I love his pencil work. It really inspired me to think differently with how you can illustrate with pencil versus pen.
It has been a while since the brilliant and ironically rejected typographic book covers of Klas Ernflo hit the blogwaves but there has since been some updates in the Ernflo portfolio. You can also see even more work at Flickr.
Anna Higgie graduated with a [BFA] in Painting and Art History at the National Art School in Sydney and has also recently studied Illustration and Typographic Design at the London College of Communication. She has some very unusual and original illustration work in her portfolio.
Absolutely fantastic work from comic book artist and illustrator Joshua Middleton. Just beautiful work. Real talent.
Agata Nowicka has produced illustrations for several notable publications. She has some really nice work in her portfolio.
Mia Overgaard has some really gorgeous fashion illustrations in her portfolio.
Beautiful illustration work from Jillian Tamaki.
“My art comes from an urge to explore. I like the countryside. I like a good view. And once I’m face to face with a lovely scenery, I feel immediately tempted to find out what it’s concealing. The dark goings-on behind the façade of nature, you might say, or the hidden machinations of the animal kingdom.
To imagine and express this, I usually tap the lines linking religious icon art, renaissance painting and comic culture. I am particularly thrilled by the kind of spiritual terror you find expressed in the paintings of the old Flemish masters, and I’m trying to find out what happens when you apply that mood to the serene and harmless world of rural folk art.
I am based in Hamburg, Germany, but my stuff has also been shown in such diverse places as Estonia, New York, Paris, Saint Petersburg, Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago. When not busy with art or media work, I can usually be found painting pictures with my 7-year-old-son.”

Really nice illustration work from Nottingham Trent University graduate Sophie Henson. She is currently based out of London and ready to take on your next commercial illustration project.
There is some nice illustration work on display in the blog of Joh Del. I love the cootie catcher above.
