Coco from Cocopit emailed to let me in on a new project. As opposed to me butchering it, here is what she has written on her site:
“Forget me not” is a series of Art mode digital prints on scarves and turban, all 100% silk. As an extension of my work as an illustrator, all designs are based exclusively on personal compositions and all elements have been hand-drawn by me.
Bag of Bees is a new online t-shirt shop establish by the people behind Paperjam. It is set for actual launch in October when the shirts will be for sale to the public. Until then, you can vote for the shirts you like the best and which ones you would like to see printed and available for purchase. There are some beautifully designed t-shirts already their to consider. Personally, I would definitely sport the two t-shirts above without hesitation.
Jaime Ibarra (that’s ‘Hi-May’ to you, not ‘Jay-Me’) is a photographer with a great flair for drama and drapery.
Make a statement, or possibly induce a seizure, at the very least inspire an acid flashback with a crazy scarf from Trust Fun.
There are exceptionally beautiful photographs of incredibly good looking people in the portfolio of Danish photographer, Signe Vilstrup.
There are some very unusual and highly artistic t-shirts for sale at Boutik Boutik. The art on the tees could just as easily be hung on a wall. Really beautiful stuff.
Ricardo Fumanal was born in Huesca in 1984 and did a stint in Barcelona before moving on to Madrid. He has some beautiful drawings, inspired by fashion and film, in his portfolio.
Photographer Sabine Pigalle has an artistic and beautiful body of work. She pays special attention to the use of color in her highly composed imagery and moves fluidly between fashion-styled portraiture to still life.
Photographer Bruno Dayan places fashion models within subconscious, glittery and floating dreamscapes. Be sure to check out his ‘celebrities’ section, there is some real hotness happening there.
The Imaginary Foundation got in touch with me this week and sent me a really great t-shirt along with a box of cards featuring some incredibly inspiring individuals, including one of my personal favorites, Buckminster Fuller. The t-shirts and cards are a really great way to help educate, inspire and spread the legacy of some of the brightest minds in the science and philosophy realm. It was nice to receive something that wasn’t meant just to look and be cool, but actually serve as a tool or pathway into learning something new and discovering some people that might further inspire thought and creativity. It’s tantamount really to the Imaginary Foundation’s entire message and premise. I really respect what they are doing. They are genuine about creating things that inspire the imagination and enlighten people to consider the world, their place in it, and help to broaden their idealogies and philosophy. After all, art and science are closer cousins than most people think. The shirt and cards will be available at their website starting Monday.
Photographer, Manoj Jadhav has some really gorgeous fashion photography happening both within a Behance portfolio and a personal website. The Behance folio has less work to see but is a little easier to browse.
Pierre Debusschere is a photographer who approaches every image as an artist would a canvas and as a result each image he captures is a unique and beautiful piece of art. The colors and the compositions are just amazing.
Some friends of mine including Aaron, who occasionally blogs for Changethethought, worked very hard on the relaunch of the Vision Street Wear website. They did a really great job and the site turned out fantastic.
A very long time ago, when I was in highschool, Vision was kind of the skater brand of choice for a while. I think I had a Vision t-shirt or something to that effect at one time, even though I never possessed enough athletic ability to stand on a skateboard for more than 5 minutes at a stretch. There was something kind of punk rock about Vision when I was a kid that spoke to my DIY ethic. I think they are kind of rekindling those roots with some of their new merchandise. There is also an interview with me on the site that gets into a little bit of what I do and why I do it. Thanks to the Vision crew and congratulations on a successful site.
Beautiful Decay has released their summer line of apparel. There are some really nice examples of contemporary design and illustration meets the tee shirt canvas but my favorite ones by far are the super simple illustrations of designer Chris Gray. Classic.
Photographer Genevieve Garruppo emailed me her work and I was really impressed. She has some really interesting fashion inspired work in her portfolio with some interesting twists.
The recently-formed Stockholm-based photography agency, Sylvie already has some really gorgeous imagery in it’s collective portfolio. Keep your eye on these folks.
