MK12 has posted their 2009 reel and it’s pretty radical as expected. I haven’t been to their site in a very long time either and it looks like there is a lot of new stuff there since I last dropped in. They remain one of the best.
Matt Needle is a Cardiff-based Designer due to Graduate from University of Wales, Newport in summer 2009, with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design. For not even having graduated yet, he already has some really adept work in his portfolio and is definitely one to keep an eye on (and hire of course). Thank you for the email Matt.
Joshua from Hydro 74 reminded me that it’s time again for this year’s Back In Black T-shirt Exhibit. The show looks like it could be a lot of fun and there are some really great artists contributing this year. You can see a little preview above and find out more about dates and times at the Back in Black website.
PepperMelon updates their already tremendous body of motion work with yet even more tremendous motion work. They also have quite possibly the coolest home page graphics I have seen in a very very long time.
Rick Banks is a soon-to-be graduate of the Cumbria Institute of Arts and he already has some strong work in his portfolio. He was kind enough to email his work in today and I was compelled to post it since he hit my Kubrick soft spot.
Nelson Balaban has updated his portfolio yet again with yet more interesting design work. He is building his portfolio with some really impressive clientele.
Scott Campbell has an expansive portfolio chalk full of excellent gig-posters. There is some really great use of typography happening in some of his work.
Thank you to my good friend Allen for turning me onto all of the great poster makers out there.
Benji Holroyd has some really nice and clean work in his portfolio at SB Studio. The site reads that a ‘full site’ is coming soon but there is already a lot of nice work on display.
Drew Taylor let me know that he has updated his portfolio at Kid Plastik with some really interesting and colorful typography.
Niklas Lundberg emailed this morning to let me know he had updated his portfolio at Diftype. Incredible work, especially considering his age and the fact he is self-taught.
Experimenta has become The International Office.
Fluid has a new website with some really nice work on display.
There is a big and great body of work represented in the portfolio of Australian-creative agency /M/A/S/H/.
“After studying at the Fine Art School of Rueil-Malmaison, Cyril studied at the Art Décoratifs school of Strasbourg in the graphic Design department and Alexis went to Bruxelles at La Cambre in the Typographic and book Design department.
They founded Wakey in 2007 “
They have some really interesting work in their collective book not the least of which includes the candles series shown above. You don’t even want to know just how bad I want one of those.
The Berlin-based studio Ice Cream for Free has updated with some nice work since I last dropped in. They were one of the few to have their poster chosen to be published by IDN for the Omega Code poster project, which I will not put up here since I think everyone has had their fill of overlapping triangles in the last few months (still a cool poster however).
Good friend of mine, Benjamin Bours recently redesigned his website with some pretty slick work. There is a lot of fresh talent coming out of Baltimore this year, and Ben is at the helm. I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more of his work, so keep an eye out.
Lysergid has updated with even more visually stunning digital illustration/design work. There are some really spectacular visuals up for inspiration sake.
