Director Paul Trillo was kind enough to share his recent directorial effort with the official video for The Peach Kings single ‘Lonely’. It’s a lovely video featuring ‘invisible people in lycra suits’ as Paul puts it. I think that’s friendly shorthand for some imaginative and evocative imagery. “Skateboarder Magazine ‘We probably should have intervened when our Senior Photographer Jonathan Mehring got together with the globetrotting filmer Patrik Wallner to concoct some harebrained excursion to another third world country for a skateboarding trip, especially when they started throwing motorbikes into the mix.
But as they say, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward, which is probably why the likes of Jerry Hsu, Keegan Sauder, Joey Pepper, Javier Mendizibal and Michael “Michi” Mackrodt were game to accompany them on this journey down nearly the entire length of Vietnam despite some of their limited past experience with riding motorbikes.'”

The synopsis:
“Scientists observe a tribe, which lives peacefully outside the external world in the rainforest. They know no form of writing and communicate only with their simple dances. After some month of abstinence, the scientists visit the tribe again and discover, that their whole behavior has changed completely. They pray to a skull-god and menace the scientist. Now they use weird signs, which they paint on themselves. The scientists have to find out what happened.”
Author Georg Klein asked Director Marc Rühl if he would like to create a short based one of his novels. Rühl choose the book “Die Logik der Süße” (The logic of sweetness). The entire shoot took nearly 6 months to complete.

Sebastian Linda directed this opus to a favorite childhood and now adulthood past time. He exclaims that he never wanted to be a fireman, pilot or superhero. All he wanted was to be a skateboarder and that’s what he is.
I can stand on a skateboard for a couple of minutes before I lose my balance and fall off. But I love watching other people do it.

Having spent most of my life lifting weights, at least since the age of 13 anyway, I found this little mini-documentary to be good fun. This little girl may only weigh 99 pounds but it’s 98 pounds of heart. Posted by Jewish Daily Forward.
I remember being infatuated with Luc Besson’s strange film the Big Blue as a kid and wondered what it must be like to free dive deep into the ocean. Matty Brown attempts to articulate that feeling in this ‘visual poem’ based on William Trubridge’s world record free dive of 100 meters. With only a single breath and no weights Trubridge descended into the world’s deepest blue hole, Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas. He did so to help shed light on the plight of the world’s smallest cetacean, the Hector’s Dolphin of New Zealand.

I think I have maybe posted the work of Director Kris Merc before but alas, it’s definitely worth looking at again because he has some crazy jaw dropping imagery represented in his portfolio that definitely sets him apart from a lot of young commercial directors.
I am a big fan of Beach House and thought their last album was fan-friggin-tastic. This brilliant recent video directed by Sean Pecknold makes me even more excited about what’s yet to come.
The footage in this video is derived from image sequences from NASA’s Cassini and Voyager missions. I downloaden a large amount of raw images to create the video.
The song is The Cinematic Orchestra -That Home (Instrumental).
