The almighty deacon of motion design and now live action, PSYOP have updated their site and reel with several new works and of course the imagery is sharp, amazing and beautiful as always. They continue to be a source of inspiration for fledgling shops like ours.
Esnake is the work of Orlando Peña. He’s a young Mexican motion designer with a pretty hot reel of work under his belt which you can see above.
This animated video that utilizes bright color and deceptively simple line work (which was no doubt complex to create) by Luke Gibbs is nothing short of awesome.
Jens Blank makes great use of live action footage and 3D in this fun little experimental piece that quickly evolves from something very low-fi to a solid amount of production value.

Nando Costa sent in this recent promotional spot for the Cartoon Network. It’s of course amazing as is everything his hand seems to touch. We were thrilled just to see his name in our inbox. He worked in tandem with the amazing people at Superfad on this and you can see the enormous list of talent below. We have worked on projects similar to this in the past and you’ll have to take our word for it that producing something like this is extremely difficult. Excellent work again Nando.

“One of the world’s most important design magazine gave us the opportunity to create the dvd opening titles for the outcoming issue ‘IdN Video v18n4’.
We had total freedom to give birth to a video without any restrictions, experimenting with techniques that we never used before.
It was a huge effort in a short time but we had a lot of fun and we learned so much.”

This trailer for Resistance 3 references some of the art created for the cover by Olly Moss but it goes way beyond that. The minimal use of color and reference to printed effects make this a showstopping piece of animation completed by Spov Design + Moving Image.
Our friends at Legwork here in Denver just keep kicking ass. They are super good at what they do and they are good guys to boot. Our studio is really proud to call these guys friends and we couldn’t be happier that they are here in Denver and are putting great work out there. It’s a good thing for all of us. This piece is a little older and was created for the Colorado Lottery under the creative direction of local ad agency Cactus. This is by far one of our favorite pieces Legwork has done over this past year and we were really inspired by it.
