I must admit to being a big fan of Lykke Li and this latest video strengthened my resolve. You can download a free copy of the track here.

“Start from the Beginning” is the single from Egyptrixx off of their Bible Eyes LP (Night Slugs 2011) and serves as the track for this animated short by Berlin artist A. N. Fischer / Datdatdat. The video examines the relationship between the simulated 3D image of the art model and the actual physical art model itself. The undulating landscape in the video is based on one of Fischer´s relief sculptures.
Field produced the stunning official music video for Stateless’ new single ‘Ariel’. The piece uses a digital dance animated in Houdini that explores the eternal struggle of good and evil. My first question after watching the piece was how they incorporated live action and you can find out by watching the making of the here.

Chris Sweeney directed this video for the Foals single ‘Blue Blood’. It’s a good song equaled by great casting and a confidently energetic performance by a young actor. Is it just me or are ‘all’ the good music videos now online (and they look better on Vimeo)?
Edouard Salier directed this dark 3D video for Massive Attack’s single ‘Atlas Air’. It’s a wild visual ride and Salier and his crew at Digital District have secured their place this year as premier motion/animation/3D provocateurs and who better to do so with than Massive Attack.

Yeah I know, it’s Linkin Park but hey the compositing in this video is awesome. I am not sure who directed or animated the video but it’s a great effect and even more kudos go to giving Linkin Park a makeover.
A talented group of artisans assembled this video for the Midnight Juggernauts single ‘Lara Vs The Savage Pack’ shooting it frame by frame using over 2000 printed pieces of paper to generate the desired effect.

If you haven’t had the chance yet to listen to Yeasayer’s last album this might be a nice little icebreaker for you. This is the video for the single ‘Madder Red’ off of the album Odd Blood irected by Andreas Nilsson, starring the absolutely delectable Kristen Bell. I could think of worse things than being her pet even if it meant you had to be a bleeding sack of meat.
Uh. Yeah. Whoah. These guys are for real and I think they might be totally fearless.

Director Evan Boehm gets all ‘sciencey’ in this video for Darkstar’s new single ‘Gold’ from their upcoming release on Hyperdub records on October 18. It’s a simple concept but delicately and beautifully executed.

I received an email from ‘Kijek/Adamski’ about this weird music video for the single “W pięciu smakach” for the group Brodka that is based on a late night shopping trip to a now disappeared Warsaw shopping district called ‘Fair Europe’ which offered up cheap clothing from Vietnamese immigrants. Yeah, I think it’s perfectly fair to call this ‘weird’, but it’s also backed by an extremely catchy song that makes me pretty curious about the rest of the album.
Uffie is getting ‘Difficult’ spinning out an undeniably catchy little ditty backed up by an increasingly trippy yet deceptively simple video that might harken a memory or two of past directorial work from Michel Gondry.
Not entirely sure who directed it as of yet.
Squarepusher has a new release out 18th/19th October 2010 on Warp Records and are telling the world through a neon rockout jam session.
The Wilderness Downtown is an interactive video by Chris Milk that taps into Google Earth to give you a unique personal experience and interpretation of the song ‘We Used to Wait’ off of Arcade Fire’s latest album ‘The Suburbs’.
I recently heard Arcade Fire described at an advertising workshop as one of those bands that just ‘gets it’. What I think that referred to is their ability to understand that music is experiential and should be engaging. The digital environment should be embraced and used accordingly by musicians instead of being seen as a threat. Bravo for my favorite band.

This is the video for Loyale’s single ‘Supernova’ directed by Marty Martin. There is quite a story behind the making of the video and you can watch some of that here. Director Marty Martin also breaks down a lot of the production process for the video at the Vimeo page as well.

Alright, this will be pulled within the next 36-72 hours since it’s not an official release from MGMT’s record label but the psychedelic rockers have put out this super trippy new video. It’s the best song on their new album by far in my opinion so I was pleased to see they produced a video for it. Enjoy it while you can, I will pull the post after the video goes down but repost after their is a more official release.
I picked up on this today from the Vimeo Staff Picks (which are always awesome by the way) and really enjoyed this video for Baths new single ‘Lovely Bloodflow’ off of the recently released album ‘Cerulean’.
