Well if you are interested in motion design or work in the field like we do, you have most likely heard of any are probably a fan of National Television. They have just updated with a new website and a flurry of new project work, so now is the time to fill your inspirational cup.
There is good work, there is great work and then there is like ‘whoa, holy shit’ work. And here is Dixon Baxi’s reel for 2011, and well you know like ‘whoa, holy shit’.
Ex-Firstborn designer Tim Jockel teamed up with Florian Sigl to bring you the world’s first holographic fashion show for fashion designer Stefan Eckert. The results are absolutely stunning.
Here is a nice little bit of animation for a good cause. The video was created on behalf of Leo Burnett Iberia to support the cause of Dhondup. Illustrator Emiliano Ponzi worked with animators Oliver Durant, Bruna Guerreiro, Anne Calandre, Matthias Hoegg under the art direction of Bruna Guerreiro and the direction of Oliver Durant to bring this piece to life. London based designer, illustrator and motionographer Ivan Flugelman who earned his degree at Universidad de Buenos Aires has been filling up his portfolio with some bright, colorful and playful project work.
Dutch designer/illustrator/motionographer Menno Fokma has been busy lately and recently updated with some new personal work as well as some new projects for clients like Mtv.
Stefan Salcher, Martin Lorenz and Markus Wagner created this music video for their friend Matthias Hacksteiner’s new music album entitled ‘Turn’. Hacksteiner’s band name is ‘Amongst Giants’.
“I truly enjoy outer space. It’s absolutely amazing that we now have the ability to send instruments out into the void of the universe to observe all sorts of interesting things. Asteroids! Moons! Planets! Dark matter! This is the perfect opportunity for a Carl Sagan quote:

Director, animator and compositor Eric Epstein goes by the name Najork and is responsible for this eerie ethereal video for the Memory Tapes latest track ‘Yes I know’. It’s a perfect marriage of sound and image. I’d keep an eye on Mr. Epstein because with work like this he’s poised to deliver more beauty in the future.
Mitch Monson is a good friend of ours and he is also an extremely talented friend. He has an extensive and unique experience in the realm of broadcast design and branding. It’s a difficult corner of the business that takes a level of expertise in understanding how to stay on brand but still generate something beautiful. Mitch is one of the best in the business at achieving this balance. He’s currently located in Minneapolis but splits time in Denver because of his love for all things pertaining to the mountains. He’s currently working under the name ‘KIND’ and you can see some of his work in his Behance portfolio.

It’s obvious that the Betterment Bureau cares deeply about what Amnesty International represents and didn’t hold back despite this being a pro-bono piece on pouring in all the passion they could muster.
Wow there is some very nice work in the portfolio of Argentinian motion design studio 2veinte. I had never heard of them until we received word about them via an email submission and I gotta say they have done some great work and it looks like they have the talent to do much more.
Toch Studio headed the talented group of people behind this year’s Mad In Spain titles including typography by Pablo Abad and audio engineering by CypherAudio. You can see the rest of the credits here.
Buck created the titles for this year’s F5 event and it looks as though it was an incredibly involved process. I continue to be amazed at the quality of work produced for the event and it’s on my ‘must attend’ list for next year. It doesn’t hurt that I am a huge fan of Buck either. Pablo Alfieri from Plenty let me know that they have updated with new work and a new reel for 2011. They have been moving quickly since their start and are churning out some fantastic work as you can see by their reel.
London based motion design agency We Are Seventeen have done some amazing work. You can see several examples in their portfolio for a wealth of big named clients. Keep an eye on this studio.
