So I sorta owe Matthew DiVito AKA Mr. Div a post since I posted some of his work last week and didn’t credit it properly. I had no clue where it came from originally to be honest but did manage to check out his site this week and if you are a fan of the animated gif then his work will not disappoint.
Right off just from the completely different look of their website you know you can expect some seriously tight design from Komboh. A recent drop in on their portfolio revealed exactly that as well as some notable updates. Excellent work all around.
Yes the words ‘trippy’, ‘magical’ and ‘creepy’ are all perfectly acceptable adjectives when searching to describe the photographs of Alison Scarpulla and I’d imagine she’d be just fine with such word use.
Peeped this a little earlier in the week but FutureDeluxe recently released this fantastic new video for the single ‘This’ by Modeselektor (I always wanna say ‘Modskeletor’ when I see their name) and Thom Yorke.

One of my all-time favorite studios Non-Format have recently updated with a few new projects including a stunning bit of work for the recently released new Adobe creative suite.
There are just so many wrong things happening in this video for Chappo’s single ‘Hell No’ that it’s hard to know where to begin. They are all super fun to watch but you can probably take a wild guess as to the potential discomfort level just by looking at the thumbnail for the video. It’s potentially NSFW depending on your comfort level with singing boobs.

The Daily Mail has some great photos posted showing some rare behind the scenes horseplay with the now legendarily iconic personalities behind the original Star Wars trilogy. If you are a fan (like me) then it’s a fun little treasure trove to dig through.
I know I know, what the hell with that headline man, well it’s not what you think it is but it does stand as a fairly literal description of a rather epic photo shoot by Tadao Cern involving blowing some hard air at his subjects.
Syndrome is still cranking out some truly stellar work after several years in the business. And for a business this finicky there is something to be said for that.
When you see stuff like this you really wonder (especially as a father) what kind of crazy ass futuristic shit you’re gonna walk in on one day and see your kid doing and ask ‘whoa, what the hell is that’ and then all smart-like they’ll answer, ‘geez Dad this is the T.V. remote’ and you’ll say, ‘yeah I know, whatever’.
All jokes aside though, this levitated magnetic digital interaction system is really amazing. Brought to you from the minds at MIT of course.

I think I have maybe posted the work of Director Kris Merc before but alas, it’s definitely worth looking at again because he has some crazy jaw dropping imagery represented in his portfolio that definitely sets him apart from a lot of young commercial directors.
I am really digging the pop/movie inspired digital paint works and portraits of Alice X. Zhang who must be keeping busy since all she has to say for herself in her about section is ‘yada yada’. Fortunately her work says much more.
I’ve recently launched my own illustration website. I will be releasing a poster for the classic German silent horror film Nosferatu this summer in conjunction with a gallery in the UK. I can’t say much more about it now than that other than the fact that the posters will be 24×36 with glow in the dark and metallic inks. I spared no expense. I’ll be posting my illustration work now at Chrillustrate and am looking for projects so please contact me if you are interested. Expect lots more in the future.
Well this is long long overdue but I am sure many of you have noticed the blog has slowed a bit lately. The reason being is that at the start of March we launched a new venture with some old friends. Over the past two years we opened an actual creative studio under the Changethethought name and managed to work on a lot of projects for some very exciting clients. In order to take things to the next level we combined our studio with the amazing talents at Friends of Mine. Changethethought will be shifting back more toward non client-based projects like art prints, posters, exhibitions, group shows, events, etc. We’ll be looking to collaborate a lot more with other artists under this new venture and are working on plans to completely overhaul the website and how it serves the creative community.
So far we have been insanely busy with our projects through Friends of Mine. Our focus is primarily motion design, animation, 3d and illustration but we are also looking to work on print, branding and digital projects. We’ve worked for some big agencies over the past few months as well as several agencies in our home base city of Denver, Colorado. It’s been a real thrill to work alongside some of the best motion designers in the state and we will be opening a new office in July close to downtown Denver. You can check out our 2012 reel above and we recently launched a new Friends of Mine website.
Keep any eye out and please keep us in mind for any projects you might find our capabilities suitable for. And expect several changes over the next 2 years with Changethethought. We will be releasing several new prints over the coming months and are looking for new artists to collaborate with.
Brazilian artist and illustrator João Ruas AKA Feral Kid has updated with some new inspirational, dark but beautiful work.
Illustrator Chris Koehler is an illustrator I very much admire. His work has a very graphic quality although Koehler works with traditional media which is a bit of an ironic breath of fresh air in the now heavily digital world of illustration. He recently updated his portfolio with some spectacular new project work.
