I am enjoying the dramatic, modern and eerily contemplative structural photography of German Art Director/Photographer Nick Frank.

There is some very interesting work in the Behance-Folio of German artist and illustrator Mark Gmehling. It’s hard to describe really but the best way to dive in is to first start off with his massive list of exhibition work. It would be amazing to see some of his prints as actual animated physical sculptures.
The photographic project titled ‘Urban Elements’ is Boris Loder’s attempt at isolating the objects and familiar architecture that constitutes our everyday urban environment.
Sebastian Linda directed this opus to a favorite childhood and now adulthood past time. He exclaims that he never wanted to be a fireman, pilot or superhero. All he wanted was to be a skateboarder and that’s what he is.
I can stand on a skateboard for a couple of minutes before I lose my balance and fall off. But I love watching other people do it.
Filmed in germany´s most beautiful city: Dresden

The German illustrator and designer known only as DXTR has made some recent additions to his street-inspired portfolio including some new illustrations for Nike and K2 snowboarding. Look closely at the image above and see if you can spot the word ‘Nike’. It’s in there. Great visual.
Markus Hofk is a ‘conceptual image maker’. I like that description a lot. He has recently updated with exactly that and seems to approach each new project with a uniquely individual perspective that wins out over the embrace of a consistent style. That’s not an easy thing to do and he appears to be doing it very well under his monicker Rainbow Monkey.
There is some hauteness happening in the portfolio of German motion/animation studio Sehsucht. I think I posted some of their work a while back but their has been some updates including the above Pictoplasma Festival 2012 opener, which is amazing by the way.
Wow. This is beautiful work.

The guys in the studio turned me onto the motion work of the German studio Polynoid today. The work is slick, psychedelic and totally awesome (case in point the work for Mtv above). You can visit their website and portfolio here.
Michael Meier is a German illustrator and designer. He is also a cofounder and member of the publishing company rotopolpress in Kassel, Germany. He has a loose, interpretive style that starts from a sketch and is finished digitally.

“We are Franz Thues and Dirk König, two Art Directors based in Düsseldorf, Germany. We make pictures harnessing the magic of generative design. All of our illustrations are generated by programs we write for each specific illustration series, allowing us to create a potentially endless stream of pictures on the press of a button.”
Together they are Anarchy/Alchemy.
“Arranged like a symphony orchestra, approximately 200 antique vacuums, mixers and washers are transformed into musical instruments. They form an ensemble that the conductor, harpsichordist and composer Michael Petermann, alias weiserrausch.de, has now completed after eight years of preparation: The Stupid Orchestra.”
This installation is currently on display at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (mkg-hamburg.de).
Smatik is the work of lithographer turned pixel cruncher André Ljosaj who has an amazing imagination and the ability to create some amazingly imaginative imagery.
Wow, we really really like this experimental typographical (numerical) collage experiment executed by German designer Kid Grandios that can be viewed via his Flickrfolio.
Simple and good.
There are some interesting abstract 3D renders utilizing dramatic lighting and minimal typography within the Behance-folio of German designer/illustrator Kid Grandios.
