Australian illustrator Jonathan Zawada is one of our favorites of this past year and he has just updated with a new site featuring the work that we have grown to love him for. He is at the top of his game and someone to keep a close eye on in 2011.
Roméo Jonathan is a French 3D concept illustration artist with a seriously breathtaking body of work. He derives influence from manga, japanimation and video games to help fuel his inspiration to create some truly imaginative work. Apparently he started as a Flash web designer but discovered Cinema 4D and lifted off from there.
I can’t seem to find an ‘about’ page at the site of designer/illustrator Lukas Brezak but what I did find was a large body of work that runs from extremely illustrative to somewhat graphic. His talent is not under dispute and his work is a lot of fun to look at.
Los Angeles based illustrator and designer Julia Sonmi Heglund has been on our radar for a long time. It’s been a while since we last checked in on her site and she has kept busy and updated lately with some new and fun illustration work that is worth looking into.
It’s been a long time since I wrote about the work of graphic illustrator Philip Tseng who calls himself Minicubby. He has since posted some new and fun projects including the alphabet series featured above.
Kim Dulaney relaunches with some seriously beautiful work for both motion boards and print. It’s highly artistic, a little bit strange and very detailed work.
Eric Bonhomme attended the Ringling college of and design. I am a fan of his gritty accessible style. His images are kinetic and full of life even though they employ simple color combinations.
Dutch illustrator and designer Stefan Glerum freelances out of Amsterdam with a retro flair and a real eye for typography.
PJ Richardson’s is the founder of Laundry but he wanted to share a new website featuring more of his hand-drawn and experimental work. There is some excellent typography, drawing and collage happening in his personal portfolio providing evidence that his unique talent has strongly contributed to Laundry’s success.
AOL Artists is an avenue for exploring the work of artists, illustrators and designers whose work is ‘helping shape art and design today’. It seems a little vague but there are some really great people represented on the site and there is a lot of inspiring content to explore. The above piece is by the always-inspiring and wonderfully weird La Boca.
German design studio Aim is putting out some interesting work including some digital collages that should inspire an exprimental Photoshop exploration or two.
Dale Edwin Murray is an illustrator based in East London with a throwback 60’s style that makes his work a lot of fun to look at.
Doe Eyed is the illustration and design work of Eric Nyffeler who is based out of Lincoln, Nebraska. Wow, two Nebraska-based posts in one day by a Nebraska-born blogger, have we entered some kind of bizarro dimension?
Eric recently updated his portfolio with some super fun new work and his portfolio keeps getting better with each new addition.
C Rixon graduated with a first class BA honours degree in Illustration at the University of Gloucestershire and is currently studying for his masters at the University College Falmouth. He has some clever work in his portfolio and some serious hand skills.
Ventilate has released their 5th free downloadable poster series entitled ‘Dystopia’. There are some nice entries this go round including the spacesuit astronaut pilot artwork of Derek Stenning. Each poster is available at 300 dpi so you can print them out and hang them in your domicile or studio. Thank you Ventilate.
Illustrator Douglas Bicicleta has continued updating his Flickr-folio and I am becoming a downright fan of this guy. He is awesome. His work just keeps getting better and more exciting. Definitely keep an eye on him if you are into what he is putting out there.
It took a while but I finally got around to updating our studio Flickrfolio with a whole lotta work from the past 4-5 years. We still have a lot more to add but it’s fairly up to date with some illustrations we’ve been working on for various art shows happening this next month. You can peep our efforts here at the official Changethethought Flickr stream. We’ve been trying to up our illustration skills to some extent in hopes of procuring more illustration commissions. Hopefully there’s something in our folio that you dig and if you don’t, that’s o.k. too.
Álvaro de Almeida is a Portuguese illustrator with a somewhat dark animated style utilizing hand-rendered drawings that are finished digitally. He’s currently on the hunt for magazines or publications who might be interested in his unique flavor.
