Posters are now available from the How Very Tokyo exhibition. Some really attractive posters.
Wow, killer free fonts at Just My Type. Seriously cool and amazing that they are free. I will just say it, ‘Thank you Just My Type. Sincerely.’
Network Osaka has released a nicely designed free font called Alpha. You can download it here. Expect a full site launch soon. Still some great work to browse through in the Flickr-folio though.
Some interesting layouts and type as image or image as type in the portfolio of designer Eric Lauritzen.
Well, the last and final big design news of the day is that Alex Trochut has once again updated his portfolio with exceptional design and typography work. I highly doubt I will be neither the first or last to mention this to you this week.
“Hypefortype is the new online digital type foundry from Thinkdust, launching in 2009. Every 3 months, the most sought after designers from around the globe will work together with us to bring you the freshest typefaces on offer. For volume one you an expect limited edition creations from the likes of Si Scott, Alex Trochut, HelloHikimori, Luke Lukas, and Jon Burgerman.”
You score a little bit of a break if you buy all the fonts together (as you can see above).
James Gilmore has a few nice new additions to his neat and clean body of work.
Apparently there has been some updates at Experimental Jetset. Anything new from Jetset is worth taking note of.
It has been a while since the brilliant and ironically rejected typographic book covers of Klas Ernflo hit the blogwaves but there has since been some updates in the Ernflo portfolio. You can also see even more work at Flickr.

Andy Mangold’s type specimen book has been making the blog rounds this week but that is just one work from his portfolio. He is currently attending the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. He already has some very accomplished work in his book. Keep your eye out for him when he graduates.
“Ari Weinkle is unsure how to categorize himself. He enjoys working on the computer, mainly creating abstract, typographic, forms freefalling in space. He also enjoys creating microcosoms and the occasional cubo-mesh-portrait. But, he also has a passion for graphic design and concise communication. As such, he is currently studying the subject at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence.”
Exceptional work for someone still in school. Keep your eye out for this emerging talent.
There is some interesting type work in the Behance-folio of designer Daniel Gordon. It looks like he has been a contributor for the KDU cause for a few years now as well.
There have been a few updates at Kittozutto since I last posted about their absolutely amazing work. You can also purchase a poster of the above type treatment. Their imagery is just flat out surreal and sincerely inspiring.
