It has been a long time since I dropped in on Andy Rementer and it looks like he has stayed busy. I haven’t written of his exploits in a long while so I thought I would mention him and his work again. There is always something interesting to take in at his website. I really love his hand painted typographical work.
Here is his bio from his website:
“Andy Rementer grew up in southern New Jersey, USA, in a quiet town once free of Wal-Marts and strip-malls. In 2004 he received his bachelors degree in graphic design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He recently spent two years working at Fabrica in northern Italy where he learned to appreciate the value of good food and not wearing sweatpants. Andy is a nine-to-five designer during the day, and an aspiring cartoonist on nights and weekends. He’s the author of a comic strip titled ‘Techno Tuesday’, which appears weekly online and in print. He currently resides in Philadelphia.”
Interesting work and smart idea for a quick website by Axel Peemöller. His work has been making the rounds lately, I am sure you may have seen it elsewhere.
It’s a rather unfortunate name for an interesting French graphic designer but putting that aside, he has updated his site with all new eye-poppingly colorful work.
Nice graphic design and typography work by Leslie David.
Can’t say much more than that because that is pretty much all that is on the site.
Gomediazine has a great article in their ‘industry insights’ section about 15 common mistakes made by designers in the music and apparel industry. I can relate because I have generated a lot of work for both of those industries over the last 3 years and I have encountered a lot of frustrating situations, particularly with the music industry. It just always seems to go haywire for me when I try to work for a band. They never have any money.
The article is very informative and offers some key insights to some issues that a lot of designers face no matter what aspect of the industry they might find themselves creating in.
The legendary latin-designer extraordinaire, Masa has updated his site with all new work.
There is some really nice work in the portfolio of freelance designer Graham Jones A.K.A. ‘G-Man’. He was recently featured in Computer Arts and it is easy to see why after taking a browse through his work.
Copied direct from the source:
“Black-Marmalade Studios was born in the fall of 2004 as a way for DeChazier P. Stokes-Johnson to have a change of pace from the sometimes static life being an art director at a advertising agency brings. Since then DeChazier has art directed, designed, & illustrated, for some of today’s top brands. He is a proud family man, art director, observer of creative culture, and entrepreneur, in that order. He tries hard everyday to attain a healthy balance between them all even though he knows pure balance is unattainable.
Besides continuing to art direct DeChazier is currently working hard on his creative observation site the Marma Spot and as an editor for Yes Yes Yall.
By day he art directs & designs for JWD-Creative and by night he lets loose for Black-Marmalade Studios.
There is some beautifully crafted typography for print in the portfolio of London-based graphic designer Hugh Morse.
