Studio Output has kept busy this past year and updated yet again with a lot of interesting new work. It’s all kind of a mixed bag in their portfolio in terms of how it’s displayed but start clicking around and you will find a lot of new inspirational goodies.
Nine Suitcases is the work of Adrian Morris who has a well rounded portfolio featuring an adept hand at graphic design, photography and illustration.
Sander van Dijk is a motion designer who has a very unique reel. He’s had a hand in animating for some heavy hitters like King and Country but he definitely has a unique perspective and his geometric inspired puzzle animations are extremely fun to watch.
Chris Burnett is a BFA3 student at CalArts in the Graphic Design program. He already has a portfolio that shows a tremendous amount of maturity and an attention to typography that most veteran designers would be jealous of. It’s a safe bet to keep an eye on this young man because is going to go far.
Anck is the work of Renaud Futterer. He is a motion designer who recently relocated to London and is on the hunt for new projects. Judging by his reel, it probably won’t take him long to get busy.
Run Silent is another audio engineering company responsible for putting the finishing sound touches on work produced by the likes of Prologue and Onesize. You will definitely recognize some of the work on their reel if you are a TV junky.
Buro Reng is a multi-disciplinary firm based in The Netherlands with a very interesting body of work that include some imagery that is difficult to erase from memory once you’ve seen it. Strange but good.
Benjamin Simon is a young 3D illustrator, motion designer and graphic designer based out of Madrid, Spain. He is working freelance currently and has some very slick work in his portfolio.
Everyone is talking about the ‘digital landscape’ these days and how and where advertising fits in. There are very few if any in the industry that could claim to be experts in the constantly shifting matrix that is digital culture but Razorfish might be able to stake a claim. If you are looking to learn about what is going on in the shadowy realm a good place to start is their Outlook Report.
Sound engineering or ‘sweetening’ as we sometimes call it in the industry can be an art that is sometimes (pun intended) lost in the mix. When you find someone good at it that you trust, you hang onto them for dear life. Good audio engineering can make or break your spot and few people do it better than Marcelo Baldin AKA Combustion. The understanding of his talent should be immediate from the moment you land on the homepage and see the amazing works that he has help top off.
Stephen Brayda is an illustrator with a strong typographic sensibility who is starting to amass a nice body of work. It feels familiar but in a good way and definitely points toward a growing talent.
“Brixton has degenerated into a disregarded area inhabited by London’s new robot workforce – robots built and designed to carry out all of the tasks which humans are no longer inclined to do. The mechanical population of Brixton has rocketed, resulting in unplanned, cheap and quick additions to the skyline.
The film follows the trials and tribulations of young robots surviving at the sharp end of inner city life, living the predictable existence of a populous hemmed in by poverty, disillusionment and mass unemployment. When the Police invade the one space which the robots can call their own, the fierce and strained relationship between the two sides explodes into an outbreak of violence echoing that of 1981.”

The art of making movie posters has gained an insatiable following lately amongst the design and illustration set and there are very few you could call masters of the genre. Akiko Stehrenberger is one of those few with a mass of drop dead gorgeous posters under her belt.
A little less than two weeks ago young director/filmmaker Shelby Smith headed downtown to the Occupy Denver camp with camera in tow. This is what he captured.
David O Reilly does his wonderful thing for Tim and Eric who are even more wonderful in their own fantastically weird yet totally hilarious way. And those very adjectives perfectly describe what’s on display here. Awesome.
Jublin is the work of illustrator Justin White. You can view his personal website here or take in his body of work more immediately via his Flickrfolio. He’s got some wonderful character art happening in his portfolio the sports animals being a particular highlight. Roll tide.
Stevie Gee is an illustrator who makes himself readily available for illustration (obviously), art direction, design and love making. I am sure you could probably go à la carte on that menu if you wanted and maybe mix and match a skill or two.
