Succession has generated some complex gif art and I have absolutely no idea how it was created. It would be nice to know more about him/her as well.
The artwork from this years Illustrative 09 event are online and there is some beautiful work to behold. The above piece is by Aya Kato and is entitled ‘Evolving Moment’. Be sure to read up on the Illustrative event while you are there as well.
Illustrator Julia Bruderer has relaunched her website with some stunning new work. The detail in the piece above is mind numbing.
There is a new issue of Newwork Magazine available for your viewing pleasure, and viewing it is indeed a pleasure.
I have seen and posted the beautifully colorful illustration work of Paris-based Véronique Meignaud A.K.A. Marmotte before but there some equally inspiring images being more frequently added to her blog.
I know I have seen and posted the work of Leander Herzog in the past, but I revisted his Flickr-folio today and only again realized how sprawling and truly experimental it is. Trying to just pick one image out of such a huge archive just doesn’t seem to do it all justice.
The work of artist (maybe illustrator?) Andreas Barsleth is a bit of a strangely psychedelic romp.
This is a collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis for the 2009 Fame Festival. Wow. I mean mind-blowing brain matter scatter wow.

Devin Troy Strother takes a mixed media approach to his work as you can tell from the materials used to create the work above (gouache, acrylic, cel vinyl, and silkscreen on cut paper). The end result of these efforts is a tactile-feeling two dimensional image bursting with vibrant color and movement.
I was just really impressed by the wood-carving sculpture work of German artist Gehard Demetz today. His work is just a marvel to behold. His craftsmanship and the contemplative nature of his work is truly an inspiration. Although he does have his own website, the best way to take in his work is through a simple Google image search.
Kevin E. Taylor received a B.F.A. from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 1995. He currently resides in San Francisco.
Animals attack. Or mate?
Photographer Roger Dekker’s portfolio runs the gamut from fashion through landscape. One thing remains synonymous throughout, each piece is an example of high art.
You just kind of stare at the graphite drawings of artist Frank Magnotta and say to yourself, “Wow, that’s really amazing.”
“Avant Car Guard are a Johannesburg-based three member visual art collective, exhibiting and authoring as a singular artist. They have produced three publications on their work, titled Volume I, Volume II and Volume III respectively, and have exhibited at a national and international level for several years, with their production being based on a conceptual, self-reflexive and satirical approach to the art world – it’s markets, practitioners as well as the process of creating itself. This is manifest across multidisciplinary means; through photography, sculpture, performance, multiples, installation and painting.”
Weird, wild and just plain good stuff.
