Graphic/Product Designer Rahel Ritchie has some nice work in his portfolio but a particular standout is a hoodie that features an inflatable hood to cushion your head like a pillow while you are on a plane or traveling in a bus. What a fantastically simple yet brilliant idea. I could really use one of those. I wonder if they have actually been produced and where you could buy one. I want one now.

There is some very unusual design and illustration work in the portfolio of Garry Milne. It looks like digital collage but the end result is really unique. Interesting work.
I rarely recommend books, maybe I should more often, but this one caught my attention this week as it looks like it could be a real resource for a graphic designer/artist. You can pick it up here at the online shop for Kapitza.
About the book:
“Geometric is a unique pattern resource book featuring an exciting collection of 264 colourful and monochrome pattern illustrations.
It is beautifully printed on heavy matte stock, features an embossed cover that’s wrapped in an American-style poster and bound in a distinctive rhythm technique.
The Geometric book comes with a CD containing 100 pattern fonts – the most extensive pattern font collection available from any foundry.
It also includes a helpful font index and easy to follow tutorials. We hope that you will be inspired by the innumerable possibilities the Geometric font collection has to offer. With thousands of characters you can create your own patterns for years to come.”
An all new website has been launched for the digital agency Odopod. Its new and its pink and there is a lot of work to click through.
I would be lying if I said I liked the website for Almost Modern, its not exactly ideal but there is some great typographical posters in their portfolio that still justify a visit and some clickthroughs. The ‘To Be’ poster is a particular favorite. Simple and smart.
As you can see pictured above, Jorge Chamorro has put together a pretty kick ass little series of photo-collages.
Classy and classic work in the portfolio of Design Project.
WTF is happening at Videogramo you might be inclined to ask? And I would answer, I really have no idea other than to say that I had never considered just how bizarre and creepy gif animations could be and feel enlightened to have found out.
Rafael Macho is an enthusiastic Designer who believes that good communication and great design can help companies do better business.
I guess we have that in common.
Some sweet motion graphic/graphic illustration action going down at Blirp Studio, not the least of which is the hot typographical treatment on their splash page.
“Pen Pencil Stencil is the studio and workspace of designer Mark Giglio. Originally from Southern California, Mark grew up drawing, painting, skateboarding and surfing. Currently he lives and works in Oakland, California.
Beginning as a designer at Cahan and Associates, Mark has since had the opportunity to work on projects with a diverse mix of companies, such as 2k by Gingham, Apple, Dwell, GSP, Nike, Tolleson Design, and others.”
‘Fun’ pretty much sums up everything you will see.
Awesome, and I mean awesome poster series from Merel van den Berg. Really cool work all around but I must admit true love for the Crazy Diamond poster series.
I believe I have written about Sanderson Bob studio before but there appears to be a few new projects up at the site since I last checked in. All of which are expertly executed and well worth the time to check out for a little dose of design inspiration.
There is some clean and sleek work in the portfolio of Brazilian designer Alexandre Lins.
Since its conception I was waiting for the day I could place my order for Pentagram Marks. Today is that day – Order: placed.
