Minchi is a rather inexplicable Japanese artist/illustrator who combines hand crafted illustration techniques like acrylic painting, gouache, oils, etc. with digital production. The subject matter is a bizarre mix of internal organs, food, sadomasochism and ocean life. Like I said, inexplicable.
Norwegian illustrator Esra Røise has a large portfolio of attractive pencil and watercolor illustrations that are influenced by fashion.
Russian illustrator, artist and photo retoucher Grape Frogg is responsible for some remarkable images that really spark the imagination. Frogg is a multi-talented and you can see an interesting array or work in the Frogg Behance-folio.
Digital illustrator and Photoshop wizard Neil Duerden continues to stay busy working for numerous clients. He has recently added around 70 new illustrations to his portfolio which continues to grow exponentially.
Motion designer Ricardo Villavicencio has updated with a new cache of visually stunning work. Loving the piece above.
There is some fun, trendy, poppy and psychedelic illustration work happening in the German Behance-folio of The Zonders. It’s candy but I really dig some of it. Sugar tastes good.
There are a few nice and new updates in the portfolio of Polish illustrator Grzegorz Domaradzki. It’s neen a while since I have posted a skull illustration but I really like this one.
Art and design studio Morning Breath has updated with a new website and some new work in their portfolio. I guess I had no idea just how much album art they have done so that was a bit of an eye opener for me. I am more familiar with their poster/art/screen printing work and didn’t realize how much design is their bread and butter.

Venezuelan design studio MASA has a small update in their Behance-folio featuring a nice album design for ‘Los Amigos Invisibles‘.
Artist and illustrator Rachel Ann Lindsay has been busy lately and recently updated her website with some new work including her wonderful continuous line drawings. I used to do these in college. You basically take a pen/pencil, put it to the paper, begin drawing and do not lift the pen from the page until you are finished. The end result is a drawing comprised of a single line starting at one point and ending at another. They are very ‘stream of consciousness-like’ and mastering them isn’t an easy feat.
The RRR Project which stands for ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ invites participants to take a look around their environment and see what they can save, pick up and turn over to look at in a different way. The end result has been a mishmash of art, design, photography, illustration from some very talented people. The first effort was published as a free downloadable e-zine that was released to celebrate Earth Day but RRR has recently gone into print with an absolutely gorgeous little book that is inspiring already just peering through jpegs. I first stumbled on the project last night while browsing FPO (For Print Only) and was really impressed. I am ordering a copy today and will be excited to receive it. The project helps support the Surfrider Foundation. You can see some of the art from the book in RRR’s Flickr pages and purchase a copy from their website. Fantastic work.
There isn’t much in the way of information about illustrator Mateusz Kolek at his website. What you will find however are some really nice illustrations that speak more about his abilities than words could manage.
NYC-based Graphic designer and illustrator Damien Correll is someone I always keep tabs on and he has just a very few new bits and pieces in his portfolio. It appears he has been seeking an intern lately (or perhaps last summer), so it sounds as though he and his partner Garrett have been busy. If you have yet to browse through his portfolio, consider this your chance. It’s always worth looking through.
I stumbled upon Hugo & Marie’s Behance-folio this morning and was treated to some really exceptional posters recently completed for the latest album release of superpower-hippy-jam-band Phish. There are several posters completed by different artists and illustrators under the Hugo & Marie umbrella, all of which are expertly accomplished.

The new year updates are beginning as you can already see and here is yet another great addition as Roman Stikkelorum, Rindor Golverdingen and Michael Danker update their collective portfolio at Studio Vruchtvlees with some attractive new work. It must be nice to be based in the Hague.
