I absolutely loved loved loved this little animated piece. The poetry, the reading and the frenzied kinetic animation style are all right on tone. It’s fantastic in every way possible and genuinely inspiring if you are involved in animation.

I loved this little animation. It’s fun, well styled, well storied, simple but engrossing. Excellent work.
Lots of people involved on this one and they are all here in all CAPS.

CADAVER – A bittersweet love story (7 min) from Jonah D. Ansell on Vimeo.
This is well done all around and I was amazed at the acting talent represented. It’s got a raw and rugged styling to the animation and feels a little Tim Burton inspired.

Well if you can recall Buck’s contribution to the Good Books campaign earlier this year then you also still probably remember having at least part of your face melted. If you can believe it Good Books has done it again this time by combining the talents of Mcbess and Simon from The Mill in London to produce this equally amazing piece of animation and copywriting. (Mcbess also works for The Mill). I was very impressed by the writing in both of these spots but the animation does steal the show.

“He’s small and easy-going – light-hearted but very social. He’s good on the phone and is a massive music fan. He’s a romantic. While he tends to be a little loud, he likes nothing more than to just blend into the background and help set the scene. He looks great in black and he’s not attached… to anything.”
One of my friend’s tweeted this (I’ll never get used to saying ‘tweeted’) and I kept it top of mind for a while. Silky Smooth animation through and through.

I Love Dust was approached earlier this year by the Cartoon Network to produce something memorable for their 20th anniversary. What followed is this 2 minute mind-melting bonanza featuring original music by Mad Decent and nearly every character who’s ever moved across the screen since Cartoon Network began airing content. It’s most definitely I Love Dust’s crowning animated achievement thus far.

Jake Fried actually hand drew this entire animation using ink and white out. Keep that in mind as the barrage of imagery begins to unfold. It’s wild. You can find out more about his work at inkwood.net.

This short film animation is AKA director David Prosser’s rumination on a trip to Seoul. He was invited by SICAF and the animation was developed using his personal sketchbook created through observing day-to-day life in the city. The story is based on the lives of 3 people who live in Seoul where they are always watched over by the mountains that lie just beyond the city.

David Fain produced this stop motion piece using a lot of editing, ingenuity and little green plastic army men moving to the accompaniment of an instrumental track by the band “Pink Martini”.
