If I am not mistaken, since I last checked anyway, it appears that Eduardo Recife has updated with some new work.

Artist Dan Funderburgh has updated with a brand new website featuring some newer work. Dan is really talented and is really owning his own unique brand of art. He just keeps getting better and better at what he is doing as well.
Jim Stoten is ready to melt your face off with his London-based sketchy illustrator skills. Half of your face anyway.
Really beautiful paintings from artist Regino Gonzales. Seriously amazing work, the detail is incredible and each composition is unique and just flat out gorgeous.
I am really digging the acrylic stylings of painter Leah Tinari. I love her use of color and the real/surreal abstraction of her subjects.
Carly Elizabeth Schmitt has created some really cool paintings and drawings that she has on display through her Flickr account. I stumbled upon them somehow today and got stuck on her work right away.
Kay Rosen is an artist whose work is comprised of typographic wordplay, and what I guess I would describe as experiments with word structure and language interpretation. She exhibits this work through installations and produces paintings utilizing color and letterforms that explore word usage and character combinations. Its interesting to see typography used purely as an artform unto itself and see it within the context of high-end contemporary art.
Matthew Woodson A.K.A. Ghostco has updated his website with more of his absolutely beautiful illustration work. I am just continually amazed by Woodson’s raw talent. He is easily one of my most favorite illustrators at the moment and as an Art Director, I am dying to find a project to bring him in on. If you are seeking a talented illustrator, hire this man. He is the real deal. Beautiful, human and contemporary work that commands attention and respect.
He also has very reasonably priced prints for sale now as well. If you support the arts, pick one up and keep him working. Talent like his deserves to be supported.
Early Griffin was established out of the love of the handmade screen printing process and also in order for it’s authors to be able to work with artists they love and admire. The posters are released in editions of 50 and series of 3 featuring different artist in each series.
There are some really nice posters here and each is a unique and beautiful piece of art.
There are some really nice illustrations in the portfolio of Blake Loosli. I was amazed to find that it appears he creates these digitally as well.
I had to copy this direct from the source because Sarah Illenberger and her wild and wonderful work are no easy thing to put your finger on.
“Defining one category for all the work of Sarah Illenberger is no easy task. The forms the visual translations of her themes assume are far too diverse. What initially sounds quite abstract, in reality, is mostly practical in that her creations are not generated on a computer but rather by meticulous handwork, sometimes incorporating the most mundane materials. A story about love-sickness is visualised through an embroidered design. Variously coloured tablets are used to compose portraits for a magazine. And in Sarah’s hands, beauty products are given new life by being transformed into tourist landmarks. Whatever she creates, it is done with a humorous touch and a great love for detail. Each assignment leads to a unique work of art, sometimes visually enhancing the content of a feature, sometimes to be considered a work in its own right. In her Berlin studio, Sarah Illenberger develops concepts for editorial as well as commercial clients. She mostly works alone, but occasionally teams up with a photographer.”
An icon of our profession passed January 11th from a stroke. Japanese graphic designer and artist Shigeo Fukuda was best known for his simple, iconic antiwar and environmental advocacy posters. If you would like to see more of Mr. Fukuda’s work you can do so here. You can also purchase a book detailing his work here and read the full story of his life and passing at the NY Times.
There is some really cool Beastie Boys inspired artwork here.
The Unconventional Collage Show exhibiting the works of Alejandro Chavetta will be running from 1/16/09-3/1/09. Be there or be square. Great work.
I posted Jacob Magraw Mickelson’s work to my last blog but was reminded today of his work at Design You Trust and thought I had better repost it. Really amazing paintings and drawings not just from a technical standpoint but also with the use of color. Strange but beautiful work.
Really interesting 70’s inspired illustration style from Sparrow Vs Swallow.
I have linked up Bela Borsodi’s work before on the past version of my blog and possibly even this version but no matter, it is still worth mentioning again. Some of it is very erotic but he is able to stage and capture imagery that feels and reads almost like a snipet direct from the artist’s imagination. Really original and inspiring work always worth a second look.
