Swiss-born but now London-based Daniel Baer has updated his studio website with a few new and striking design projects. I am not sure if the wedding invitations shown above are one of the recent projects but they are one of my favorite pieces in his portfolio.
Sanderson Bob Studios has kept busy and recently updated with a few new and unusual projects. The studio was founded by Bob Sanderson, a former Central Saint Martins Graduate and Designers Republic Art Director. The nice thing about the studio’s portfolio is that they have managed to keep the ‘art’ securely in place with the ‘direction’.
Lisbon-based studio Alva looks as though they recently updated their website and portfolio. The piece pictured above is not new but still one of my favorite examples of their work. Even if the update isn’t entirely recent, they are still worth looking into for the uninitiated.

Yellow Bird Machine is the illustrative design work of Amy Martino who isn’t afraid to use bold color. She has a style all her own that runs throughout her portfolio.
Christopher David Ryan has been really busy lately and has kept updating his Flickr-folio with new examples of his retro-inspired highly considered design and typography layouts. I have always been a fan of his work and his updates do not disappoint.
It’s pretty much impossible not to like and appreciate the amount of work that went into creating this little stop motion video. You might recognize the guys in the video from I Love Local Commercials. It gets a little self-promo heavy at the end but that’s part of the genius behind these two gents, they just know how to market themselves.
Via my brothers-in-arms at Joyengine.
Brooklyn-based type foundry Village has some really nice type faces available, all of which are loaded with character. They also have some nice goods up for sale featuring their uniquely vibrant brand of typography.
Some time ago Eric Smith was diagnosed with cancer. At first the human part of his being tried to reject the disease and put himself at the mercy of the situation. However, his spirit knew that even cancer could not separate him from the harmony and love that he attempted to find in each day. The duality provided a separation between the physical and spiritual that came with the realization that the spirit is eternal. This made him aware of each moment and has continued to push him to live each day as if it were his entire life. The experience gave him cause to start the Live Now project which serves as a community pursuing the notion of ‘living now’ through art, literature, relationships and exhibitions.
