There is some pretty sweet collage work happening in the Flickr-folio of Kraffhics. They also have a really nice zine out that you can purchase for next to nothing. It looks like they put some real love into producing it as well. You can pick up a copy here.
James Warfield is the Creative Director at Un.titled and for good reason because he is well-equipped with a great portfolio of work.
There is some nice work in the Behance-folio of Ukrainian designer Roma Skripchenko. Looks like a developing talent, keep your eyes open for future work.
Wow, shit hot, I mean blazingly-kick-ass new work is abounding in the portfolio of Magomed Dovjenko. I was mind-blown. How it is possible that he is self-taught is beyond my imagination. But hey, maybe that is exactly why he is so good.
I can’t be sure but I think there may be a few small updates in the portfolio of design studio Hudson Bec since I last dropped in. Anything they are up to is always worth checking out.
There is a new reel and some new work in the portfolio of Dreamers Ink Aesthetics. And it’s good stuff.
There is some nice stuff in the portfolio of FLPR. And good God man, it says he is only 18 years old at his site. Amazing.
There is only really a couple of new projects in Joakim Jansson’s portfolio since I last posted about his work but both of those projects are pretty sweet. I absolutely love the album cover above.
Hello Hikimori has updated with some interesting new work. Again, I am sure this has probably been mentioned in just about every design blog out there but Hello Hikimori works pretty hard to earn the tip of the hat.
Jónas Valtýsson emailed last week and I didn’t have time until this morning to write about his updated portfolio. He has some really great work in there including the amazing typographical poster above created by photographing splashing milk. It’s been making it’s way around the blogosphere for good reason.
Thank you for the email Jónas.
I am not entirely sure how to describe the work of Museum Studio. It isn’t necessarily entirely new or different, but then again what the hell is. But that is actually what I really like about it. They sort of aggregate preexisting imagery and cultural symbols to imbibe their work with layers of meaning, and they manage to do all of that through really simple iconic collage-like layouts. The end result is kind of light and dreamy, provoking imagination and the recall of buried subconscious memories.
I guess what I am trying to say is that, I like, dig it man.
I want to go to Sweden so badly. From the design that is created there, it must just be a magical place. Someday.
Kevin was nice enough to email me this morning to let me know he has updated his portfolio with some nice new work at This is Make Believe.
Design/Illustration/Art and Art Culture blog It’s nice that has printed a 128 page book simply titled ‘It’s Nice That Issue 1‘ that encompasses art and interviews from their favorite artists and designers that have appeared on their blog over the last 2 years. It’s Nice That covers a more tangible hands on and usually less digital side of the design industry than I tend to gravitate too, but I have been a fan of their site since it launched and they were a big inspiration for me to start this blog. They are really great people sincerely devoted to a real passion for art and design. Looking at the roster of people appearing in the book (including some personal favorites of mine), I have little doubt that for only $15 (American) it will be more than worth the purchase price. Not to mention that it is really a donation to a great group of people who provide the free service of daily thoughtfully curated inspiration.
It’s Nice That Issue 1 will feature work from, among several others Peter Callesen, Bryan Dalton, Karl Grandin, Happypets, Myoung Ho Lee, Oliver Jeffers, PES, Alex Trochut, Julien Vallee and Felice Varini. It also includes interviews with Jacob Dahlgren, Hort, Michael Hughes, Riitta Ikonen, Hugo & Marie, Andy Rementer and Roel Wouters as well as features by Andreas Konrath, Tao Lin, Rob Ryan, Stewart Smith and Ian Wright. That’s some lineup with some really heavy hitters in their that are sure to inspire.
Congratulations to It’s Nice That on the project. I know I will be looking forward to issue 2 in the hopefully not-so-distant future.
Swiss designer Aurèle Sack has some interesting work in his portfolio. He also has it displayed in an interesting way.
Someone was nice enough to inform me this morning that Family updated with some really slick new poster work.
