“Anthony Kolber is a graphic designer from Melbourne, Australia. He graduated from Swinburne University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Design – Honours. This was where he first discovered the writings of Bob Gill, Alan Fletcher and the work of the conceptual artists such as Joseph Kosuth and Hans Haacke. Their ideologies had a considerable effect on his approach to graphic design. He now works professionally as a senior designer.”
I must be honest and confess that I cannot read most of what is going on at Von B and C but what I can see are some absolutely fantastic examples of informational graphics.
One of my all time favorite design studios, The Designers Republic, has offered a little flashing potential forecast of what could be a site update soon. Let’s hope so. It has been a very very very long time coming and I think all of us design junkies are have grown pretty weary of their current site. I have been a fan of their work going all the way back to college and I just cannot wait to see new work from them. I am always inspired by their work. Let’s hope a full update is coming soon.
Comments Off on Ghin: Colourwheel CalendarTypography
“I designed this colourwheel calendar due to my frustration with the way calendars only allowed me to view units of seven days or a month at a time. I decided to lay out the calendar on a single page, making it possible to view the whole year at a
glane. Thus enabling the viewer to start making new associations between events and time in general. A lunar calendar is integrated into the layout making it easy to see full and new moons.”
The calendar is available at Ghin. It’s a beautiful piece of typographic work.
“My name is Kaloian Toshev and I am 22 years old artist from Bulgaria. I am fascinated by female forms and like many other artist, I need to draw them all the time in searching of my personal perfection. As a designer my career start 5-6 years and now I’m working as art director at Rizn Communication Design. Currently studying architecture in Bulgaria.”
I am a sucker for just about anything that has Bjork in it or on it.
Motionographer and Graphic Designer, Will Goodan has updated with a new site and reel (which you can view above). You can see the rest of his work at the Prime.
“Just in case we haven’t been properly introduced, my name is Gretchen Nash. When I am not designing I enjoy doing things like sewing and buying things from thrift stores that I will most likely never wear (or use). I was raised in the Midwest—Saginaw, Michigan to be exact. In my middle and high school years,
I was very focused on drawing, painting, and sculpture—which would explain why I still embrace a sense of tactility in my design work.
I moved to California in 2004 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from the California Institute of the Arts, which I just completed. Currently, I live and work in Los Angeles.”
“The Sicksystems consist of three members: Aske, Kola and Kio. It was founded in Moscow in 2003 as a graffiti crew, and today its range of activity includes graphics, graffiti, illustration, identity, typography and calligraphy.”
Sicksystems portfolio spread like wild fire across the design blogosphere this week and I am sure you might have seen it.

Comments Off on Some Type of Wonderful StoreTypography
Lifelounge has put up the official Some Type of Wonderful store and there are still several A1-sized prints available from some very renowned typographers and illustrators. The only catch is they are not cheap.
“Benny Box is a small design- and production company, working with animation, motion graphics, illustration and graphic design.
We have been working with different kinds of design for years. We started out with uninspiring work for printing 10 years ago, but are finally doing what we really love. We are most grateful for our assignments and clients, but we are still looking for new and challenging jobs. Even though we have worked in the field for 10 years we have been studying design on the side, and graduated from Danish School of Design in 2005, institute for visual communication.
We have a simple goal with all our work: To create consistent, visual environments around the products or subjects we work with.
