Illustrator Olaf Hajek has a loose, painterly and interpretive style that he crafts to suite the requirements of each project. His work runs through nearly every emotion from light and dreamy to moody and dark.
Pratt graduate Sachin Teng lives in NYC and has some wonderful illustrations in his portfolio that blend a mix of influences, styles and references to modern technological culture that definitely peak the interest in his work. This is some of the best stuff I have seen in the past couple of weeks.
Popshot Magazine has set up a print shop and has stocked up with some nice giclée prints from some excellent artists like Sam Green and My Dead Pony. They are limited to runs of 150 and fairly reasonably priced if you live across the pond.
Safewalls has been releasing some limited edition prints for Cirque du Soleil over the past few months. They have more expensive deluxe prints but also less expensive limited run prints from each artist. There are some great artists involved with the project like Ron English, Miss Van and Tara Mcpherson. The above image is from Ron English’s poster.
I kind a just gave up searching the entire blog anymore for reposts since it’s been tough since I started the studio and had a kid just to keep up on the blog so forgive me if this is a repost (because it looks familiar) but the work of French studio My Name is Wendy caught my eye again today. They’ve got some tasty gallery work that really mashes up a lot of different influences from both the design and illustration world and they are good at creating in both realms.
Mario Hugo has kept busy with multiple ventures in New York lately but not too busy to update his personal portfolio which he recently did. There are some, as always striking new images in his portfolio earmarked for 2011.
Jesse Tise earned his BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena and has since developed a strange, loose and printerly personal style that has stretched across various mediums for multiple applications.
Illustrator Kristina Collantes has made some big updates to her portfolio since I last dropped in and her work has taken a leap. She keeps refining her skills and broadening her range while keeping her whimisical style. I am enjoying some of her recent work very much.
Designer/illustrator and rarely do the two meet so perfectly right down the middle, Olly Moss debuted images of his soon-to-be-released Captain America posters through Mondo. Apparently these may only be released at Comicon in San Diego which will no doubt cause a stir amongst die-hard Mondo fans (myself included). They depict imagery in keeping with 1940’s WWII propaganda since that is the period in which the new film is set. They simple but wonderfully designed posters.
Illustrator Sam Green has updated with a new website and a few new images of illustration created for recent projects. I am still loving what he is producing.
Spanish graphic designer Borja Bonaque has a considered portfolio of work including some excellent illustration work for the NY ad studio Animal Agency.

Grzegorz Domaradzki updates his portfolio with some new (and as could be expected) excellent illustration work. I really love how he translates his graphite drawings into digital illustrations and achieves a much more photographic look as an end result. His use of color and nuanced type is also very nice.
Spanish multidisciplinary design studio Medusateam have updated their already colorful and poppy portfolio with yet more colorful and poppy work. Yummy eye candy.
Chris Koehler is an award winning artist and illustrator working out of San Francisco. He has worked with Wired, Google, Coca Cola, MTV, Kenneth Cole, and The NFL, among others. His award winning and apparently unpublished graphic novel ‘Devotion’ features some spectacular and gorgeous imagery. Chris also teaches in the illustration department at California College of the Arts and regularly shows in galleries.
Scotty has illustrated for clients the likes of GQ, Time Magazine, The Boston Globe, The New Yorker, The New York Times and Wired. He utilizes a restrained and relatively geometric vector approach and often exercises restraint in his color palette.
Studio Output has pulled together a notable group of illustrators and designers including the likes of Jon Burgerman, Serial Cut, Mr Jago, Happy Lovers Town, Tomato, eBoy and Jasper Goodall to create wallpapers for the background on either the Sony Playstation 3 or PSP. The above wallpaper is by Jonathan Zawada. The entire project is simply titled ‘The Studio‘.
Roman Klonek is based in Düsseldorf, Germany where he creates his illustrations via woodcut using sharp geometric lines and a restricted color palette.
