Genève-based Notter Vigne have a somewhat frustrating website, if you are not a fan of preload bars, but if you can spare a moment of patience the other thing they have is a fantastic portfolio of inspiring minimal design work.

Tallinn based graphic designers Kadri-Maria Mitt and Robi Jõeleht have a subtle and considered body of design work that will definitely spark some inspiration.
New York design studio Project Projects has updated with a new site and newly added projects to their roster of projects. Rob Giampietro has also recently joined as principle. The work looks amazing and 2010 will no doubt be a great year for them.
Family has updated with a new website. Honestly though, I can’t quite tell how much, if any of the work is new. I am a fan of their work, hence the post. So, if you have yet to browse their portfolio, consider this an excuse.
Swiss-born but now London-based Daniel Baer has updated his studio website with a few new and striking design projects. I am not sure if the wedding invitations shown above are one of the recent projects but they are one of my favorite pieces in his portfolio.
Berlin-based graphic designer Till Wiedeck updates with some sharp new graphic design work for print. The triangle has managed to sneak it’s way through 2009 and find it’s way into holographic foil for 2010 (looks sharp though eh?).
Felix Lobelius who is originally from Stockholm but has recently been working in Sydney for Australian design studio There just updated his site and is now on the market for freelance or fulltime placement. He has some wonderful work in his portfolio.
Oslo-based graphic design studio Your Friends has updated with a new website and several new projects in their immaculate portfolio.
Philly-based and PA native (and UO Inc. employee [who’s happy to pick up a freelance gig or two (wink, wink)]), Elysse Ricci does the kind of ‘stupid-simple’ design that I occasionally hear people bitch about. They say things like, ‘man, that helvetica design stuff is bullshit’. But you know the funny thing is, the stupid-simple work just comes off so clean and looking at it and liking it makes you feel smart.
It’s a lot like cooking, you can analyze it and over season, but it really boils down to fundamentals. It’s about color, font selection, positioning, form and a little bit of intuition with a sprinkle of talent. Cool heads prevail in design/advertising and you always have to be prepared to take off the apron and go burn off some steam (just like a chef). Yes, I am over simplifying but you get the point. I have worked in advertising now for a while which gave me an enormous appreciation for the power of concept, but I now spend way way way too much time over analyzing some of my own design work. I am beginning to realize that their is a kind of beauty in people enjoying a nice steak with a side of fried potatoes. You just know it will taste good and you feel great eating it. Is that so bad? Everything in moderation.
I gobbled up Ricci’s work, and I think it looks delicious. I hope I can produce something as delectable. Is going minimal trendy or is it a staple? I think it might just be a staple. It won’t go away and it always pleases.
At Copenhagen-based design studio Anni’s, you get your crispy clean editorial graphic design polybagged and presented neatly on a tasty green background.
Fellow Designers is the work of Stockholm design duo Paul Kuhlhom and Eva Lijefors. They have quaint little studio where they can look right across to one another and maybe engage in the occasional stare down stand off.

Rob Gonzalez and Jonathan Quainton have relaunched their website and refreshed their portfolio at Sawdust. Their cover of Novum served as a nice reminder to me as to where my priorities should be while I start my own studio.
I can’t tell much about Ross Berens after picking through his portfolio and his Flickr-folio but what I can gather is that he lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan and might still be a student. Beyond that what is really important is he is a talented designer and his series of posters titled ‘Under the Milky Way’ is exceptional and would look sweet hanging on any studio wall.
Stockholm based design studio Chevy Chase not only has a compelling name but also has some equally compelling work covering the bases of logo design, identity, design manuals, yypography, web design, web development with CMS, digital identities, poster design, magazines, brochures, annual reports, packaging and imagery concepts. The kind of work that is compelling enough for them to have done a full creative blogosphere tour in the last week.
The one thing I want to know is if they have gotten a cease and desist from Chevy Chase’s agent yet.
Oslo-based multidisciplinary design studio Heydays has been busy and updated with a slew of new print and branding work this week. All of which is meticulously photographed (a skill in and of itself) and looks stunning. Their bold simple use of color makes their work pop.
‘Rising star’ designer (according to Computer Arts) Jessica Walsh has updated with a new website and some stunning work that incorporates photographic sets into editorial print. Her portfolio is bursting with color and she is indeed living up to her praise.
It was all the way back in the summer of 2008 that I first mentioned the work of Shaz Madani. He has been very busy since then. Madani has spent time at studios and agencies like The Partners, Why Not Associates and Mind Design. His experience shows in his beautiful print work and any designer would be jealous of some of the pieces he produced for Topshop.
Atelier Aquarium has updated with some colorful yet cleanly executed new project work. The series of exhibition invitation for Galerie Néon are a standout.
