Rugby Rules

Comments Off on Rugby RulesDirection

I played football growing up but was terrible at it. I was always curious about Rugby since I am good at being mean and rough but have very little athletic ability. I thought I could probably find a place in rugby. Judging by the rules and the players in this little spot by Soap Creative I am now certain this is a sport I would be interested in playing. I was curious if anyone knows what league these ladies play in and where I could possibly sign up to join one of their teams and maybe just help out a little. I could sit on the sidelines if I wasn’t good enough and just spray water on them if it was too hot outside. You know, just help out.

Oh, my wife just walked in. Gotta go, see you guys later!

We have worked on projects similar to this in the past and you’ll have to take our word for it that producing something like this is extremely difficult. Excellent work again Nando.

Going to the Store

Dlew made this short for his final episode of “Everything,” an anthology series at Channel101.

The music is Jean Jacques Perrey’s “Little Ships”

Someone brought this to my attention a couple of weeks back in the studio and I forgot to post it. It’s stuck in my mind ever since the first viewing and now it will be stuck in yours.

Paranoid finally puts the tilt-shift technique to good use or at least a commercial use for this amazing TV spot. Now why didn’t I think of that? Damn.

Topher MacDonald used to live right here in Colorado around the corner from Denver in Longmont. But now he has transplanted himself to New York. Now why would you go and do something like that? He’s got some great work in his book and is currently accepting commissions.

There must be no rules at MTV when it comes to these promos and I think that is brilliant. Hence the sheer madness that is this spot from PepperMelon.

The Alphabet 2

Comments Off on The Alphabet 2Typography

“The Alphabet 2- a horn book video experiment – is a developmental spelling – video where each character visually represents the meaning of the word itself. Playing with different techniques and materials into little and big spaces, but always focusing on Helvetica font’s proportions. A collection of words in a delightful spelling-video.”

The Dead Wrestler Society

Comments Off on The Dead Wrestler SocietyArt

Alright this is just one more reason that as a new studio ourselves, we are totally inspired and motivated by studios like I Love Dust. Out of a sheer love for kitsch and art they have put together an exhibition devoted to the colorful characters known only as professional wrestlers and have specifically dedicated the show to members of said part that have departed the land of the living. The event is called The Dead Wrestler Society and will be exhibiting at The Aspex Gallery in Gunwharf Quays, PORTSMOUTH with a preview 21 September 6pm – 8pm and the full showing from 21 September to 30 October 2011. I so wish I could attend this one. What a great idea.

RM Regular

Comments Off on RM RegularTypography

Improving upon, competing with or even coming close the the juggernaut typeface Helvetica is no small task. But that didn’t stop Mash Creative from making an extremely valiant effort in doing so. The end result of that effort is a typeface called RM Regular that you can now purchase at Hype For Type. It’s a beauty. I’d expect to see this one cropping up in a few projects out there this next year.

S/M/L

Comments Off on S/M/LAnimation

“For years we have had an urge to create a character-driven animation piece. For us, the opportunity came knocking in the Fall of 2010 disguised in the form of a pitch for ‘Funcheez’.

We got excited and pulled out all the stops for the pitch. We designed characters and environments, drew up storyboards, colour boards, and boardomatics. The pitch was beautiful and fun, but in the end the client decided to go with another studio for the spot.

But it was too late—we had somehow fallen completely in-love with our strange little alien creatures and rather than relegating them to our salon des refusés to gather dust, decided to take the plunge and build a story around them.

Read more about the project and how it came to life on our site here.”
