Some interesting type experimentation coming from 115829.
Wow, I am really digging this.
Animation by Sebastian Lange and music by Forss
There are some really nice experimental typographical layouts in the portfolio of Brasileiro ANDR, short for Anderson who lives in Curitiba, Brasil.
Jan en Randoald has generated some really beautiful typographical layouts.
There is some pretty dope ass typography in the portfolio of Vanila Barcelona. Very rare that I write or speak the phrase ‘dope ass’ anymore. Thanks for making me bring that back Vanila Barcelona.
I would be lying if I said I liked the website for Almost Modern, its not exactly ideal but there is some great typographical posters in their portfolio that still justify a visit and some clickthroughs. The ‘To Be’ poster is a particular favorite. Simple and smart.
I really dig the Miss Alphabet font from Sheriff. Radical and a touch ironic.
Craig Ward has updated with his slick typography skills. You know like nunchuck skills, computer hacking skills. You gotta have skills.
I am loving the alphabet painted over newspaper set from designer Phil Yamada.
Some nice typography in the portfolio of Thomas Helbig who is not responsible for this hyperlink.
Kay Rosen is an artist whose work is comprised of typographic wordplay, and what I guess I would describe as experiments with word structure and language interpretation. She exhibits this work through installations and produces paintings utilizing color and letterforms that explore word usage and character combinations. Its interesting to see typography used purely as an artform unto itself and see it within the context of high-end contemporary art.
Wow, killer free fonts at Just My Type. Seriously cool and amazing that they are free. I will just say it, ‘Thank you Just My Type. Sincerely.’
Network Osaka has released a nicely designed free font called Alpha. You can download it here. Expect a full site launch soon. Still some great work to browse through in the Flickr-folio though.

You score a little bit of a break if you buy all the fonts together (as you can see above).
Cameron Moll’s letterpress poster featuring the edifice of the Salt Lake Temple is really extraordinary. Unfortunately the print is already sold out but may be reprinted. Regardless, it is worth checking out just for the sake of inspiration. The work is absolutely beautiful and it is the kind of image that was crafted out of sheer patience and love for typography. It had to have been incredibly difficult to create but the end result is really stunning.
“This letterpress poster was handcrafted character by character over the course of roughly 100 hours. Characters from the Bickham Script Pro, Engravers MT, and Epic typeface families form the edifice featured in the artwork, the Salt Lake Temple. Additional detail photos available at Cameron’s Veer Portfolio.
Each poster measures 16″x24″ and is printed on Crane Lettra Pearl. Letterpressed by Bryce Knudson of Bjørn Letterpress in Provo, Utah.”
I Love Typography has compiled it’s favourite typefaces of 2008 and there is some really good stuff in there that I had not seen yet.
New website, new fonts and just a whole lot of newness from the Swedish type foundry, Fountain.
