Field produced the stunning official music video for Stateless’ new single ‘Ariel’. The piece uses a digital dance animated in Houdini that explores the eternal struggle of good and evil. My first question after watching the piece was how they incorporated live action and you can find out by watching the making of the here.

Shape Anatomy is the work of Italian designer and illustrator Valerio Vittozzi. The newer work in his portfolio consists primarily of classic Roman sculpture intermingled with not-so-classic three dimensional graffiti forms. It makes for an interesting juxtaposition of forms.
Illustrator and motion designer Jon Noorlander was a 2010 PromaxBDA Design World BRONZE winner for the above ident for BT Vision and was also featured in Stash 64. Noorlander has some fantastic work on his reel.

Onedotzero just released this little montage (everybody needs a montage) of some of their recent endeavors in the realms of motion graphics, short film, animation and music videos. It’s an impressive show and proof of Onedotzero’s inspiring talent.
I have posted the utterly bizarre animated gif art of Francoise Gamma before but there is more strangeness recently posted. This work really is art whether you like it or not. And yes, it is also very strange.
Spanish industrial designer and art director Emilio Gomariz has what could be described as a wildly varied portfolio. His animated gif series entitled Extremity is of particular interest. The images are ‘tridimensional collages’ utilizing 3D models (bodies) which Gomariz found floating around the internet.
Edouard Salier directed this dark 3D video for Massive Attack’s single ‘Atlas Air’. It’s a wild visual ride and Salier and his crew at Digital District have secured their place this year as premier motion/animation/3D provocateurs and who better to do so with than Massive Attack.

3D and motion studio Blur has updated with a spectacular body of work including some downright mind blowing cinematic video game trailers. It’s amazing they even had time to put a site online considering how involved producing such work must be.
Sylvain Tardiveau puts forward a somewhat expected video but that doesn’t make it any less fun or kick ass. It is also right on the money for the music.
From what little I can gather from Facu Samman’s website is that he is Brazlian (or Portuguese) and an illustrator, 3D artist and animator. He’s most likely young as his portfolio reflects that but he is definitely doing some interesting things and could be rolling out a much more aggressive portfolio in the future. Definitely someone to check back on in the coming months.
Um. Wow. I mean holy crap. Umeric’s new reel is amazing. Really. They are brimming over with talent and a wild imagination. It looks like those qualities are keeping their team busy too and that’s great to see.
You just have to take your hat off to Dvein. They keep producing unexpected and rather undefinable yet totally original work. It’s always interesting and it looks like they must be having a great time producing it. Hats off.
This particular piece is to celebrate the 100th issue of IdN magazine (idnworld.com/ 100/).
This experimental video directed and animated by Andrey Nepomnyaschev has been making the blogospheric rounds lately and for good reason, it’s a wild one.
Holland based Motion Graphics agency Addikt recently completed the visual identity of this year’s DesignYatra, one of the biggest festivals on graphic design worldwide that takes place in September, Mumbai, India. You can view the results of their efforts as well as the rest of their portfolio at the Addikt website.
Fuel TV has added some exceptional new promo spots to their already fantastic reel for their artist ident series. Justin Harder created life-size ‘pixelated’ motorcycle racers for his spot. You can actually see pictures of the process at his Flickr account. It must have taken a crazy amount of time and money to produce. There are also 2 new spots from Brand New School that look amazing and feature some impressive 3D work. You can see the Brand New School spots here and here. It’s refreshing to see a brand both inspiring and allowing so much raw creativity.
A Day in Paris is a short film by Benoît MILLOT that composites some amazing 3D over live action. It’s a fun little film and the amount of work required to create such a seamless effect on behalf of Millot must have been intensely draining. You have to admire his commitment to craft.
There is a lot of things happening in this artistic short 3D film including voice over talent from Whoopi Goldberg. It’s a very aspirational piece of art that aims toward a very cosmic philosophical core. It’s exciting to see some big talent interested in something like this. I recommend going fullscreen on this one to experience it at it’s fullest expression.
Barcelona based motion and interactive studio Dvein has updated with some excellent idents for SyFy along with a host of other new and exceptional projects.
