Non-Format has updated yet again with a highly inspiration and as always amazingly considered album art project for Seeland.

Paul Marcus Fuog’s Australian design studio Coöp has updated with a new website and several new pieces in the studio portfolio. It’s a designalicious extravaganza that will get any hungry print designer salivating.
It’s been over a year since I last wrote about art director, designer and illustrator Michael Freimuth. He’s continued to fill his portfolio with unusual and yet original work that showcases a wide range of talent. He works full time as an art director at Tender in Manhattan. He is also the creative director at large for Chicago based magazine and design journal Matériel.
Independent creative consultancy Made By Six has updated their website (and it’s very slick) as well as their portfolio. There is some inspiring design work throughout the Made By Six portfolio and they have done an excellent job wrapping it in a website that really sets it off.
Minneapolis based husband and wife run design studio Eight Hour Day has updated with a new site and as always a portfolio of clean, considered and understated work.
Designer and typographer Steven Bonner updated yet again with some more striking imagery and illustrated typography. He’s an adept image-maker and his style keeps expanding. Some of the recent more simple works are definitely the most eye-catching.
Norwegian Graphic Designer Mats Ottdal is currently working between agencies in NY and Oslo (not bad places to be).
He’s been updating his website quite frequently with some great examples of typography. He has a very diversified portfolio that shows off a wide range of skillsets.
London based motion and design studio Man Vs Machine has updated with a new site and lots of slick new work including some nice idents for SyFy (we at Ctt need to score some ident work). There is lots of inspiring motion work to be found in their portfolio.
According to the about section at Kharma, they seem to like and be interested in a lot of the things we are. On top of being design geeks, they also like to do good and have the chops to pull together an impressive cast of designers, illustrators and artists to produce some excellent t-shirts. It gets even better though because a significant portion of every purchase goes directly to charity. So you get to support your favorite designer while giving to charity. That’s a pretty good deal.
There are several excellent examples of clean design and typography in the portfolio of Amsterdam-based Baster. My suggestion is to just click the random projects menu and just keep on clicking.
Maddison Graphic is a small design studio that was established in 2006 by brothers Edward and Alfie Maddison, and is based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. There is some strong, clean and classic branding work in their portfolio.
Brian Gosset’s chosen title ‘The Art of Doing Something‘ symbolizes his philosophy to do art he feels good about and in turn hopefully inspire others to get involved in making the world a better place to live in. That’s a noble stance. He also happens to have an absolutely spectacular commercial portfolio as well. He’s an inspiring talent.
“This Year I will Try Not To was born out of frustration, complacency and laziness. Most designers are seduced by design trends. They’re easy to appropriate, and even easier to imitate. The challenge is to innovate. To be new. We decided the best (and most enjoyable) approach was to identify and document the most common trends we felt we had to avoid. Before long we found ourselves with a checklist of DON’Ts and a new aim: to try to be new. We may fail, but we will try.”
A little manifesto produced by Elliott Scott and Christopher Doyle.
London based designer/illustrator Martin Nicolausson has updated with some excellent new work including the above surreal landscapes making beautiful use of black and white.
Justin Blyth who used to occasionally write an occasional somethin’ somethin’ for Changethethought and also runs the expertly curated image/pop/trend-inspiration blog Them Thangs (which is awesome by the way) is also an excellent designer/illustrator/motionographer and has just updated his website and portfolio. He also recently printed and released a curatorial magazine under the tile ‘Them Thangs’ as well. Needless to say, Justin is a multi-talented individual and whatever he is up to is worth looking into.
I have seen and I believe I have posted the design work/illustration work of Eli Horn before but only recently discovered his artistic talent. He has some excellent paintings and illustrations in his portfolio that really exemplify some genuine talent.
Australian graphic designer Fabio Ongarato has some cleanly executed work in his portfolio. He also has a lot to say about design as a discipline in his about section.
Claudio Kirac is a ‘modern day renaissance man’ having worked professional artist, photographer, designer and consultant working primarily within the fashion and music industries. He truly is what he proclaims to be with an impressive body of work spanning across all the aforementioned disciplines. He’s a genuine talent.
