“NIKE78 is an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by NIKE. Creatives involved will receive a brand new pair of NIKE shoes and will be asked to use sport as inspiration to challenge their function. The project will be documented on this website and after the shoes have been collected, an exhibition showcase is planned for the London Design Festival 2010. This is a unique project featuring some of the most talented creative individuals, studios and other organisations.”
You can check out a little bit of the work so far in the ‘Outcomes‘ section of the Nike 78 website. The Nike 78 project is part of the exhibition at this years London Design Festival in September. You can check back for future updates including more details (hopefully more imagery) about the contributing artists and designers in the Nike 78 section of the London Design Festival website.
The video above was created by W+K Tokyo Lab and you can read an explanation for their approach here.

From Falmouth is the work produced by the Graphic Design (BA Hons) students graduating from University College Falmouth in 2010. There is some really great work up there and if you are in the market, I would be looking to pick up some of the talent they are putting out there into the world. Good luck students and keep up the great work.
Shire born Bristol-based designer and illustrator Tom Lane keeps churning out some good-looking vector eye candy. Gui Borchert is currently a Creative Director at at Syrup New York where he has been for the past year and a half. Before landing there he worked at Mother New York for two years and also did a 4 year stint at R/GA. I remember a very very long time ago when I occasionally blogged for Design is Kinky, Gui came on board and also posted a link or two from time to time. He has come a long way since and his recent campaign for Puma got me really excited for the upcoming 2010 World Cup.
I have been shopping lately for a new Brazilian jersey and haven’t purchased one yet (my wife is Brazilian and not rooting for Brazil would mean a beheading at the hands of her and my inlaws). I get one during every World Cup but keep forgetting it is only a few weeks off. My DVR is gonna be full up here soon and I will be putting on at least 5 pounds of beer weight at a minimum.
So Gui, next time I finally get up to New York (hopefully for project work) I am buying you a Harp and we can rock our jerseys together. Joga bonito!
