Oliver Munden

Comments Off on Oliver MundenIllustration

Oliver Munden is an illustrator with impressive range. He can shift from Mike Giant style inky black & white, to graphite, to neon pop and do it all really well. It’s no surprise that he’s currently a Senior Designer at ILoveDust, a favorite here at Changethethought™. I definitely look forward to seeing more work from Oliver. Check out his online portfolio MEGAMUNDEN.

Egene Koo

Comments Off on Egene KooIllustration

I am digging the nature/spiritually-infused work of Korean illustrator Egeen Koo. It’s even better to see her work utilized commercially in a public space. It’s a rare thing that genuine art squeezes it’s way through advertising.

Edward Kinsella: Updates

Comments Off on Edward Kinsella: UpdatesIllustration

Illustrator Edward Kinsella has updated since I last dropped in on his work. There is something eery and awkward about his imagery but it generates a specific kind of character that makes for a wholly unique image. I really dig his stuff.

Nathan Manire: Update

Comments Off on Nathan Manire: UpdateIllustration

Illustrator Nathan Manire notified us that he recently updated his portfolio and he has expanded upon his style and capabilities with some new and refreshing imagery. He is a multifaceted talent as capable by the way of hand as by the way of the mouse and that is much more clear in his updated book.

Brent Couchman

Comments Off on Brent CouchmanIllustration

SF based designer/illustrator Brent Couchman has that familiar minimal retro style happening in his portfolio and he does it very well. I should say his ‘Flickrfolio‘ rather.

Purenonsens

Comments Off on PurenonsensIllustration

Joanna Krótka has filed her work under the domain ‘Purenonsens‘ which is an act of humility to be sure.

“An illustrator based in Poland, born in mid-80’s with imagination driven by psychedelic and morbid pictures as well as prog/space/psychedelic rock music. Bur most of all – huge geek with love for all things geeky.”

As humble as she’d like to be there is some definite illustration talent represented in her portfolio.

Joao Oliveira: Updates Yet Again

Comments Off on Joao Oliveira: Updates Yet AgainGraphic Design

Brasileiro designer and illustrator João Oliveira (Onrepeat) is a young talent whom I’ve followed a few years now. Enough so that he knows I am a sucker enough for his work that I will post it just as soon as he has made a major update which he does more often than most. So once again, he has been in touch and updated his poppy, colorful and fun portfolio with new imagery. This time there is some 3d incorporated which breathes new life into his work. As always, it’s a lot of sugary eye candy that is sure to give the brain a little rush.

Joshua Hibbert

Comments Off on Joshua HibbertIllustration

Joshua Hibbert was another artist who sent me his work and very humbly so as well. It was another, hey please check out my work email and to be honest, for as long as I have been blogging and looking at portfolios online (over 10 years now) you develop certain predisposed judgements. So when I see a link to a ‘blogspot’ portfolio I think, well he/she doesn’t really have a real website so I will check it out, but my expectations are at a minimum. But who am I to be such a pretentious douchebag and think that I know everything about how people choose to display their work online. I say this especially because Hibbert’s work surprised me and he has some excellent imagery on display and he is an obvious multi-faceted talent. Thanks for sending your work in Josh. I was inspired.

Bruno Borges

Comments Off on Bruno BorgesGraphic Design

Bruno Borges is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in São Paulo, Brasil. I will be the first to admit that his portfolio plays like series of ‘familiarities’ with other work I have seen but that being said, he possesses the power to create strong images (enough so that I am posting it here anyway).

Atelier Olschinsky

Comments Off on Atelier OlschinskyGraphic Design

There are some very interesting images and self-initiated projects rolling out of Atelier Olschinsky. They also make some of their efforts available as prints in their shop. You could fair a lot worse if you are looking to decorate with some beautifully modern abstract expressionism.

Chris B Murray

Comments Off on Chris B MurrayIllustration

Chris B. Murray is an artist / illustrator / designer who was raised in a small upstate NY town bordering the Canadian border / St. Lawrence River. Although it took several years for him to develop a personal style, CBM’s vivid color use, striking subject matter and technique became apparent at a young age.  Chris would spend his younger years drawing endlessly into the night while his friends were our running a muck.  During this time he developed a deep fascination for graffiti art / hip-hop culture, comic book and children’s book art.  Chris carefully studied the bold color schemes from graffiti, the line work & dynamic compositions shown in comics and the dreamy imagery present in children’s books.  From these studies he absorbed enough visuals and information to hone a style he now calls his own.  Chris currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with his beautiful girlfriend Emily & their boxer puppy ‘Chunk’.”

Mr. Kone

Comments Off on Mr. KoneIllustration

I don’t know how I have never heard of this guy but if you are a fan of street-inspired design and illustration his work is DOPE. I haven’t used that word confidently in a while (probably because it makes me feel old) but damn his stuff nice. He’s got a great store too full of all kinds of goodies. I am definitely keeping an eye on the Mexican illustrator Mr. Kone.

Tom French

Comments Off on Tom FrenchArt

Tom French is a UK based contemporary image-maker, whose recent pieces are an exciting and interesting fusion of traditional fine art and urban techniques.
Born in 1982, and raised in the North East of England, he studied at the Newcastle school of Art & Design before going on to achieve a First Class Honours in Graphic Design from the Sheffield Institute of Art and Design.

He has since been pursuing his painting and illustration practice, drawing on his conceptual design experience and experimenting with stencil, spray paint & collage work. Now we can see a merging of these techniques, with striking results. His recent pieces show figurative charcoal characters merging to create greater darker forms; they are classic and contemporary, dark and beautiful, the mixture of textures hinting at underlying stories and adding depth to each piece.”
