Friends of Mine was asked to contribute to the ‘Radical Openess’ TED Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland in collaboration with illustrator and director Superdeux. A friend of mine (no pun intended) Burke Miles developed the animation using the illustrations from Superdeux. They turned out a nice little intro along with sound produced by Dynamitve Laserbeam.

MK12 posted a strange, mysterious and dark animated short not long ago that leaves you hanging for more of their fantastic work.
Curtis Doss has doen his time at some of the big hitters within the motion/broadcast production industry at places like Shilo and Bigstar. He’s now seeking freelance work and has a spectacular portfolio of work that is proof of his talent.
This is a fun little self-initiated project by Me & You Studio. Hopefully it will serve as a friendly reminder to get out there and create. Don’t wait for a project. Just do it. If you create, it will come.
‘Sight’ is a short film based in the future directed and created by Eran May-raz and Daniel Lazo. The project is was completed as a part of their graduate program at the Bezaleal academy of arts. Wow this is for school? What are they feeding these kids lately? Amazing!

My friends at Legwork have released their latest reel for 2012 and it’s chock full of whoop ass. I had a chance of working with these guys maybe 4-5 years back just as they were very first starting out and turned down the chance. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. They continue to amaze me with the kind of work they are continually putting out and their star is fast on the rise here in Denver. All of it is deserved though because they work their asses off. Keep it up guys. I’ve got nothing but love.
Motion Designer Scott Benson has released his reel for 2012 and there is some pretty good looking stuff happening in there.
Motion designer Jonathan Kim lives and works in Los Angeles where he is an Art Director at Royale. He was kind enough to send in his portfolio that is rich with stunning visuals. He’s got some real talent and I’d imagine he’s felt the pull of more than one or two studios in LA because he looks like a hot commodity. Great work all around.
This short film animation is AKA director David Prosser’s rumination on a trip to Seoul. He was invited by SICAF and the animation was developed using his personal sketchbook created through observing day-to-day life in the city. The story is based on the lives of 3 people who live in Seoul where they are always watched over by the mountains that lie just beyond the city.

Joshua Catalano developed this simple music video that in many ways almost feels like the graphics are generative based on the actual audio. It doesn’t look like Proce55ing though I could be totally wrong. If you know any more than I do, please leave a comment or two.
This is a surreal and super psychedelic experimental 3d animation piece completed entirely by Russian motion designer and animator Dxmiq. It’s trippy to say the least and made me wonder what a director like Kubrick would’ve been able to do with abstract visuals like this if he were still around today.

Kinetic Pixel created the titles for the second year in a row for the Helsinki African Film Festival. This year’s effort centered around 3 concepts directly related to the festival. Those concepts were the screening of a movie. a festival club or African party and African masks.
Scott Geersen shows well with a mighty strong reel for 2012 featuring projects utilizing Nuke, Flame and AE (or combinations of all of the above).
Our friend Andrei D. Robu has updated with several new projects lately including work produced for Brand Jordan, The Golden Globes and Bloomberg. Not too shabby at all. And of course he is still cranking out some excellent typographical work.
Here’s an amazingly animated little short film stunner created, designed and animated by Jordi Pages with sound design by Echoic Audio.
