Joshua Hibbert was another artist who sent me his work and very humbly so as well. It was another, hey please check out my work email and to be honest, for as long as I have been blogging and looking at portfolios online (over 10 years now) you develop certain predisposed judgements. So when I see a link to a ‘blogspot’ portfolio I think, well he/she doesn’t really have a real website so I will check it out, but my expectations are at a minimum. But who am I to be such a pretentious douchebag and think that I know everything about how people choose to display their work online. I say this especially because Hibbert’s work surprised me and he has some excellent imagery on display and he is an obvious multi-faceted talent. Thanks for sending your work in Josh. I was inspired.
Bruno Borges is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in São Paulo, Brasil. I will be the first to admit that his portfolio plays like series of ‘familiarities’ with other work I have seen but that being said, he possesses the power to create strong images (enough so that I am posting it here anyway).
Vinicius Costa sent a humble little, ‘hey check out my latest work’ type of email and I have to say very humbly that I am floored. Wow. Absolutely gorgeous work is spilling over his amazing portfolio. What a talent.
AXN LatinAmerica called on Plenty to develop a promo of one of its primetime shows, “Criminal Minds”, whose main characters are a team of FBI profilers who analyze ‘Criminal Minds’ to deduce their next move.

Well this is it. The big year according to many cosmic calendars. It was a wild year for us at Changethethought. This was really the year the business of the studio got officially underway. We did a lot of work this year and will be carrying several projects over into 2012. We traveled, met lots of new people and had the opportunity to work with some absolutely wonderful human beings. We feel very lucky and very blessed.
I myself added a new member to my family. My son Liam Charles. He has since become the new love of my life. For all the fear I harbored over many years of marriage at becoming a parent, I have found all of it to be totally unfounded. My son is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. Seeing him smile, grow and learn is one of the greatest joys of my life. It’s given me renewed purpose and has pushed me even harder toward success. It’s also made me look at my wife with fresh eyes and realize just how fortunate I am to share a life and love with her.
2012 is going to be an important year for Changethethought. We will be adding some new people to our team and taking on even bigger and more exciting projects this year. We will also be working toward releasing more posters and breathing new life into the blog as well. Of course none of this would have ever been possible without the support I have received from my partners, the amazing people who have worked for us, my family and extended family and of course all of you that have read this blog over the years. Thank you to everyone and lets all hope that 2012 will not be the end of anything but the beginning and awakening of something entirely new, unexpected and utterly amazing.
I really dig the music for this track from Oupa titled ‘It’s Rough’ from the album Wild Love, but oh man I think I am tripping out man. Oh man I am tripping out so hard. AHHHH!
The illustrator known as ‘Brisseaux‘ has updated with some glowing hot Tron-inspired work that harkens back the 80s with a modern twist. It looks pretty darn cool if you ask me.
Stash has posted their best videos from 2011 and if you lean more toward the motion, animation, 3d and broadcast side of the creative business, it’s an inspiring list to pick through.
Comments Off on Scott Weaver Has Lots of ToothpicksArt
“Scott Weaver’s amazing piece, made with over 100,000 toothpicks over the course of 35 years, is a depiction of San Francisco, with multiple ball runs that allow you to go on “tours” of different parts of the city.”
Wow, imagine the patience if you dare. Definitely, def-def-definitely looks like 994,000 toothpicks. Definitely 994,000.
The ‘Ideas Factory‘ is not big but their ideas are. They have some tight branding, typography and print work in their considered portfolio that is of course all a very classic graphic design affair.
If you want to witness just how far a fascist autocracy can slither it’s way into the very consciousness of an enslaved people than look no further than this video of North Koreans publicly prostrating themselves after the death of their ‘Dear Leader’ Kim Jong Il last Saturday. Why has the world allowed these people to suffer for this long?
There are some very interesting images and self-initiated projects rolling out of Atelier Olschinsky. They also make some of their efforts available as prints in their shop. You could fair a lot worse if you are looking to decorate with some beautifully modern abstract expressionism.
My friend Mike Walters turned me onto the bizarre Photoshop compositing work of Android Jones. It’s a heavily-layered affair that would no doubt put a crunch on your machine. His work has sparked some interest as of late and he may actually be exhibiting here in Denver soon. Keep an eye out. I would imagine it would be something else altogether to see his imagery in print.
This is the trailer for Sascha Geddert’s next short film. Looks pretty sweet.
“In the vastness of space, there’s a a small speck of rock inhabited by the most peculiar lifeforms: Dark little dots that start to replicate fast and begin to show signs of intelligence. „Globosome“ tells the story of the rise and fall of these little creatures.
This film is inspired by the special times we’re living through on our own planet. We’re at the crossroads. The question is what makes humans actually different from bacteria in a petri dish. Surely we have culture, science and art but what does remain of these achievements if you look at our world from a global perspective. The Film will be released in Summer 2012.”

I know I have visited Berg Studio’s website sometime in the past but am not sure if I have posted it before. Regardless, they are a UK-based studio pumping out some solid design and branding work. They also have a nice website that features a decent sideblog showcasing what inspires their efforts.
“Gifted is a space for us to work with selected artists, designers and illustrators on creative product ideas. We’re currently working on the full site, but really wanted to get everyone that’s going to be involved next year together and create our first joint project.”
This looks very promising. There are some very smart people involved with this and I would imagine you could count on seeing some great prints come out of this project in the coming year.
