Juan Molinet has produced work for several notable studios as his character driven cartoon-esque with an adult edge work seems perfect for modern mograph purposes. He’s got some fun and colorful work in his portfolio.
I don’t have a lot of information on this video other than it was created by the awesomely named ‘LUCIFER YOUTH FOUNDATION‘ (I was a part of a similar foundation in my youth). So watch it and enjoy.
I kind a just gave up searching the entire blog anymore for reposts since it’s been tough since I started the studio and had a kid just to keep up on the blog so forgive me if this is a repost (because it looks familiar) but the work of French studio My Name is Wendy caught my eye again today. They’ve got some tasty gallery work that really mashes up a lot of different influences from both the design and illustration world and they are good at creating in both realms.
I cannot stop listening to Washed Out lately. Actually my entire studio keeps listening to Washed Out. It’s quite possibly some of the best music to create too that has been released in quite some time. I think you can catch the vibe via the video above.
The design and advertising studio Skyrill (run by two brothers) have put together and experimental type study titled ‘Fluid’. They have detailed images available outlining the project at their blog. There are some striking ‘type as image’ visuals that resulted from the project.

Artist Lucian Freud, known for his thick application of paints in painstakingly created, highly stylized portraits, has died at the age of 88, his publicist said Thursday. He died Wednesday night of an unspecified illness at his home in London.
“An 80’s wedding goes bad when guests from hell, hijack the proceedings to the horror of the unsuspecting wedding band.”

Spin guest art directed a recent edition of Print Magazine and the end result are some seriously striking page layouts. It’s definitely something I intend to drop by the bookstore and pick up immediately for inspiration sake. Good call on the behalf of Print.
Hitch is a team graduation project that was created for the program at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover. The video is an animated book containing recipes for Alfred Hitchcock classics.

Mario Hugo has kept busy with multiple ventures in New York lately but not too busy to update his personal portfolio which he recently did. There are some, as always striking new images in his portfolio earmarked for 2011.
Jesse Tise earned his BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena and has since developed a strange, loose and printerly personal style that has stretched across various mediums for multiple applications.
Illustrator Kristina Collantes has made some big updates to her portfolio since I last dropped in and her work has taken a leap. She keeps refining her skills and broadening her range while keeping her whimisical style. I am enjoying some of her recent work very much.
I am digging this series of skate decks for Future Past Skateboards by Australian designer and illustrator Nick Thompson. It’s a great mishmash of 50’s advertising and pop art stewed together. What better place than a skate deck for something like that?
Irish Graphic Design Duane Dalton has some excellent minimal posters in his portfolio including a series titled ‘Album Anatomy’ that includes some great work centered around a few of my personal favorite bands.
I am digging this series of collages by artist and photographer John Vincent Aranda. It’s definitely Roy Lichtenstein inspired work but of course Lichtenstein’s work was influenced by popular comic book artists of that time. The circle goes around. I was more inspired though because I have been looking at old comic book illustrations like this a lot lately as an influence on my own drawing and illustration work.
